As a member of Commissioner Bulc Cabinet responsible for Smart Cities, it was with great interest
that I heard about the proposal on the "La Fabrique des Mobilités" at our event on "boosting start-
ups and SMEs for smart urban mobility: linking accelerators and cities", which took place on 22 May
2015 during the 2015 Metropolitan Solutions Fair in Berlin. Representatives of La Fabrique des
Mobilités were present in our panel discussion, and also presented the day before during the Action
Cluster on Sustainable Urban Mobility under the European Innovation Partnership for Smart Cities
and Communities.
In the transport sector, we need to better link key actors, and we need to better collaborate to
support start-ups and SMEs. Therefore, the idea and concept of La Fabrique des Mobilités fit well
into our ongoing attempts at European level to strengthen entrepreneurship and improve the
investment framework.
I look forward to see such initiatives to enter into next stage and to be communicated in EU as the
best cases. Please note that colleagues in DG MOVE are willing to engage in follow up discussion.
