4. INTRODUCTION
Wind and Solar power are both excellent alternative forms of
energy that are efficient and can save lot of money a farmer. These
two types of energy have been used successfully for decades on
agriculture very well separately. Recently, there have been great
Steps in both technologies. It is now possible for an agribusiness to
be solely powered by wind and solar electricity, saving the owner
money on electricity. Combining both wind and solar power into
one system can save even more money.

5. Solar Power
Solar power is the ultimate power source driving
the earth. The process of directly converting solar
energy to heat or electricity is considered a
renewable energy source. Solar energy has been
used for modern technology has provided a way to
produce electricity from sunlight
5
6. Advantage and Disadvantage of solar power
Advantages
• Operating & maintenance
costs of solar panels is low
• Solar panels can be installed
almost anywhere where there
is sunlight
• This power are environmental
friendly
• Solar panels do not produce
any harmful greenhouse gases
Disadvantages
• Solar power is initially
expensive
• Investment costs of solar
panels & other equipment is
still high
• Solar panel efficiency levels
are relatively low
• Solar panels are fragile & can
be easily damaged

7. Solar power use in Agriculture
Solar power becomes the most promising renewable power source that
can replace the conventional source of energy.. The application of solar
power in agricultural sector includes drying, threshing, water pumping,
cooking, rural electrification, etc. Proper utilization of renewable energy
such as solar power can provide sustainable development. Many
farmers use solar panels for farm use to power their irrigation systems. A
poor farmer can save money from using solar power system.
7
10. Benefits of solar power
The first benefit of solar power is of course environmental. A
farmer save his electricity bill, because he will be using power
from solar panels during the day rather than just from the
electricity grid.
There are no direct greenhouse gas emissions because the
electricity is made from sunlight rather than burning fossil fuels.

11. Wind Power
Wind power is the use of air flow through wind turbines to provide
the mechanical power to turn electric generators. Wind power, as an
alternative to burning fossil fuels, is plentiful, renewable, widely
distributed, clean, produces no greenhouse gas emissions during
operation, consumes no water, and uses little land.
11
12. Advantages and Disadvantages of wind power
Advantages
• Wind power is an inexhaustible source
of energy and is virtually a limitless
resource.
• Energy is generated without polluting
environment.
• This source of power energy on large
scale.
• Wind power can be used directly as
mechanical energy.
Disadvantages
• Wind power requires expensive
storage during peak production time.
• There is visual and aesthetic impact
on region.
• Requires large open areas for setting
up wind farms.
• Noise pollution problem is usually
associated with wind mills.
12
13. Wind power use in Agriculture
Wind power may do more than improve farm income. When sited in
agricultural fields, turbines’ churning of air may help crops to grow, new
research indicates. Farmers can benefit directly from wind power by using
the electricity generated by wind turbines to power their farms. Extra
income can help protect them from big swings in commodity prices. The
electricity generated by these leased-use turbines is sent back into
electrical grid, providing clean and renewable energy for all of us.
13
15. Benefits of wind power
Wind power is a clean fuel source. Wind power doesn’t
pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion
of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Wind turbines
don’t produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid
rain or greenhouse gasses. That is very helpful for our
agriculture and environment.

16. Why we use Solar and Wind power in our
Agriculture sector
Solar and wind power can be use in our agriculture in a
number of ways, saving money, increasing self-reliance, and
reducing pollution. Solar and wind power can cut a farm's
electricity and heating bills. Wind power can provide an
important economic boost to farmers and Solar heat
collectors can be used to dry crops and warm homes,
livestock buildings, and greenhouses.

in a rice field under the scotching sun, his name is Habibur. The solar pump

500,000 liters of water daily. Photo Credit: World Bank

18. Conclusion
Looking at the data we have come to the conclusion
that wind power and solar power is so much helpful
for our agriculture and save our environment. This
two types power is most important for develop our
present and future agriculture.
