3. • Introduction
• In this presentation contain clinical features vanni pitham according
to Yugi vaidhya chindamani. There are 42 types mentioned.
• The vanni mean in tamil fire. The same meaning of this mention as
Azhal pitham in an another classification of pitha noi according to
Theraiyar vadakam. there are 21 types of pitha noi mentioned.
5. Clinical features of Vanni pitham:
Different type of pain in abdomen.
Excess heat spread to head.
Stool / urine pass with mucus and blood.
Body become blackish and the pallor.
Fainting and exhaustion.
Unable to ingest the food.
Burning sensation / Heat sensation of tongue.
Sour taste in tongue.
6. • In this condition, pitha dosha aggravate beyond it normal level. The clinical
features of this condition mostly similar with other pitha imbalanced origin
diseases.

• So, Vanni pitham also arise due to over heat in the body as well as expouse
to environmental heat.

• During a heat wave (increase heat in body) , there's an increased risk for
inflammatory bowel disease flare-ups, and a greater risk of infectious
gastroenteritis (IG) (Nierenberg, 2013).
• And also The relative risk of developing Crohn's disease in the
gastroenteritis cohort was greater than that of ulcerative colitis,
especially during the first year after the infective episode (Rodríguez &
Panés, 2006 ).

10. Treatment
• Piththam act in our body and as well as in mind. It posses fire character in
body and rajov gunam in mind. This is normal state of pitham.
• But due to improper food habits and activities it causes the disease. So,
the body is affected as well as the mind also affected.
• While treating should consider the above condition. To balance the
aggravated pitham, seetha veeriya drugs and foods given to patient.
• Treatment given to pacify the aggravated rajov gunam and increase the
sathva gunam. To this the surround environment should be clam, cool and
being good to mind.

• To pacify the pitham give medicine to induce vomiting according to “
vamanaththal pitham thaazhum”.
• Then give medicine for induce purgation.
• Finally given medicine for sign and symptoms.
12. Medicine for vomiting.
1. Nei
Pei peerku seed -1 palam Patpadakam, Seenthil, Sooraththu nilaavarai,
Sivathai, Kadukkaai, Athimathuram and Seemai saamanthi each 4 palam.
All chopped well and add 2 padi water and boiled up to 1 uzhakku and
filter. Then added 1 padi cow gee and boiled up to kaduku patham
(consistency). And sprinkle powder of poonaikan kunguliyam half palam
over the prepared nei.
Dose: ½-1 spoon
Therapeutic effect: Induce vomiting and purgation.
13. Nei-2
Fruit of marukkaarai, Rhizomes of Seenthil, thaneervittan, Roots of sivathai,
Kaakattaan, Siraamanakku, Pei pudol, Patpadaakam, Kadukkaai, Thaanrikkaai,
Nellikaai, White neermuli flower each 4 palam. Add 4 padi of water and boiled up
to half padi and filter the decoction. Then add I padi milk and ½ padi ghee again
boil it. Keep it for one month.
Dose: one uchchik karandi
Therapeutic use: Induce vomiting
14. Decoctions
1. take pei pudol, Seenthil, patapadaakam, kottai mundri, rose flower petals,
fruit of aththi, root of kaakanam, root of marukkaarai each ¼ palam . add
enough water and make decoction amount of 1 padi. Take ½ azaakku from
the perepared decoction and add some amount of honey. therapeutic use:
induce vomiting and purgation.
2. Root of sivathai, stem of Seenthil, nila vila root, root of mookirattai, root of
saaranai, peri peerku, kottai mundiri, vasambu, soombu, seerakam each ¼
palam. Add half padi water and boil up to ½ azhaku and filter. Add some
amount of ghee.
15. Prepared Medicines
There are no specific treatment for vanni pitham. So need to treat the condition
with symptomatic treatment
1. Kudineer : Thiripala kudineer
2. Chooranam : Thiraatchathi chooranam, Parangiyaathi chooranam,
Piththasangaari chooranam, Mandoora chooranam, Thamarai valaiya
chooranam, thayir chundi chooranam, Panchtheepakkini chooranam, Malli
chooranam.
3. Thailam : Keezha nelli thailam, Seeraha thailam, sukku thailam, thiripala
thailam, Mahizhapoo Sandanaathi ennai, Siththamatti ennai, Ilaneer
ennai, Kumari ennai
4. Manapaahu : Vilava paani, Seenthil paani, elumichcham pazha paanam.
