A true pioneer in the Frameless Glass Industry, it is our invaluable experience that allows us to not only supply products and
support, but to deliver a truly diverse solution encompassing all the Frameless Glass Systems and Products throughout the entire
project.
Pal Hansen, the first person to introduce Frameless Glass Systems to the South African market is part of the team behind the
FG01 Frameless Glass System. He sought to create an innovative niche market supplying the very first Frameless Glass Systems in
South Africa.
During 2008, after establishing the concept and carving out a successful industry, the time was right to venture out and
develop a custom made System (a first for South Africa). The system was designed for the harsh African climate to withstand truly
tempest level winds and heavy rains.

The Evolution of Frameless Glass Systems
Frameless Glass has had a massive leap forward. Taking into account the
many challenging weather conditions faced by the South African consumer,
the FG03 System has come to dominate the market with truly next generation
technology and unrivalled ease of use.
Thanks to its predecessor, the FG01 system, the FG03 system has evolved
into the first frameless sliding stacking system in the world with a double
lip capital “H” weather strip between all the panels, including the
primary door and the secondary panel. This next generation Sliding,
Stackable glass system utilises individual frameless glass panels to provide
unimpeded and breath-taking views.
The elegant aesthetic of this moving glass design creates a functional system
that is not only easy to use, but safe, secure and highly weather resistant in line
with South African weather requirements, providing a high degree of flexibility
in its various applications.

For increased stability and reduced deflection, the opening- and closing boxes
as well as the top track and bottom of beads are lined with double wool pile
to ensure a sealed and snug fit throughout the system.
For increased stability and structural integrity the wall thickness of our profile/
frame exceeds those of any other aesthetically similar product available on
the South African Market (30%).
Unlike aluminium and wooden doors which need to be compensated for on
finishing of plastering and screeding of floors, the FG02 and FG03 is surface
mounted. This means that installation only takes place after all plastering and
screeding is completed and a datum level is in place.
Before the main contractor proceeds with water proofing, a 38 x 76 aluminium
angle with our uniquely designed special FG Sealed Aluminium Lugs can
be pre-requested for extra precaution. Installation will only be successful if
completed by our fully trained and skilled technicians since it
is highly specialised.

is it safe?
Even coping with Cape Town’s tremendous winds and rains in areas such as
Blaauwberg Strand, Kommetjie, Bantry Bay, Camps Bay, Sea Point to name
but a few. Storms have come and storms have passed, all beaten by the
FG03 System.
The System has a unique guttering channel built into the bottom track to cope
with water outlet, leading out from the gutter system with a neatly concealed
outlet pipe. Allowing clients using the FG System to put carpeting right up to
the tracks. It turns outside element facing areas into enclosed entertainment
areas with dining room tables, and/or coffee tables right behind the glass,
protected from the elements by the FG03 Frameless System.
Additionally incorporated into the system as part of its unique design is a
framework of which both the opening and closing parts of the system has
double wool pile fitted. Unique to this system the primary door will be locked
in place by means of a handle in the opening box.
The handle activates cams which in turn will push the door over into the capital
“H” weather strip situated on the secondary panel. This provides a secure, snug
fit into the mounting boxes which minimizes deflection on the glass caused by
wind, enabling the glass to deflect as a unit.
This also serves to eliminate rattling often experienced in windy areas, the perfect
answer to the wind problem encountered by users of older frameless systems.

Glass, which itself is incredibly tough (as its
name would suggest) and that the amount
of force required to break the glass will

gain access through a wooden kitchen door
than it would be to break an 8mm or 10mm
Toughened Glass Panel.

Due to the demand for a Shutter System and the success of the FG03 System, a FG02 Security Shutter System was added to the
product range which is based on exactly the same principle as the FG03 system.The FG02 System is available with conventional
manual operating louvers with a stainless steel rod in each louver. Louvers block out 95% of light. Although the method of sliding,
folding and stacking the individual panels are unique to the FG02 System, it is not compulsory & we can offer conventional methods
such as sliding or hinge. It is available in various colours as well as some wood grain finishes.
Using advanced South African technology, materials & fittings, the FG02 Sliding Shutter System offers a 2 year guarantee Master
crafted with elegant lines, creating a superb finish. The FG02 is based on the mechanics of the well-established FG03 Frameless
Glass System of which the panels can either stack inwards or outwards. The FG02 System acts as a deterrent against forceful entry
and aids as a barrier until preventative measures can be taken.
Each louver has a stainless steel rod with a washer welded onto each end. The rod is loose thus enabling it to
spin in the event that a prospective burglar should try to cut through it with a hacksaw. The washer also exceeds
the size of the hole in the side plate to prevent it from tearing through the aluminium, should the blade be
smashed with a hammer. The top wheels slide into the track (horizontally) and each panel has guiding blocks and
interlockers to prevent it from being lifted out of the tracks. The lock on the primary door secures the rest of the panels in the
locked position.
