All extra rooms, with no exceptions, are built entirely by ourselves. Total control over the
quality and every detail of the layout and construction is therefore assured, this gives our
customers exactly the building they require which suits them and their garden.
Garden Offices & Therapy Rooms
If there is no hard standing available for our garden offices we will install a piled foundation with an
insulated cassette floor. This is a floor which is built as a level deck which rests on the piles, and the
whole building in turn rests upon the deck, or cassette floor as it is called. This enables us to
provide a stable foundation, well ventilated, (crucial for all timber buildings) on even the most uneven
ground with no difficulty at all and no possibility of rising damp.
We encourage most of our customers to allow us
to do the foundation. We have often found that
“DIY slabs” can be a little substandard and end up
being more expensive anyway. Almost all of our
buildings in the last twelve years have been built
onto foundations that we lay.
If we have a hard standing we will place the
building on many pads so that it does not sit
directly on a slab, as sub-floor ventilation is key for
all timber buildings. If on soil we will provide
concrete piles with a timber plug on top which
connects to the floor deck.
