Being American is more than having the right to proudly wave a red, white, and blue flag, more
satisfying then being a part of a fairly organized government, and evidently more honorable than
simply a tittle. To have a group of isolated tribespeople understand what it truly means to be an
American, they would have to understand the American Dream; a dream that was so unique to each
individual, it required equal opportunity for all. Three things that represent what it means to be a

from the war took advantage of this and used their GI Bill to obtain mortgages for homes. This
