The First Assignment: The Paragraphs about My Life
1. To me, my family consists of my parents, sisters, grandparents, aunt, nephews, and
cousin. I am my mother’s third born child and only son while I am also my father’s first
born child (and son). They were not married until I was 6, but later separated when I was
9. I was raised mostly by my mother.
2. To be honest, I do not have a job. Well, not yet, anyway. Last semester, I took an online
course called “Interpersonal Relations & Professional Development”. The course
instructed me on topics such as jobs, jobs searches, job interviews, resumes, cover letters,
and networking. I earned a C in that course; if I had worked harder and didn’t
procrastinate so much, I would have earned an A or a B.

3. I have never moved from one home to another. I still live in my grandparents’ house. I
will not tell you the address because I do not think it would be appropriate. I drew a
picture of my home when I was 8 years old. In elementary school, I was able to walk
home from school, but when I was in middle school and high school, I took the school
bus.
4. Here are more memorable facts about me: In 11th grade, I passed both the Georgia High
School Writing Test as well as the Graduation Test; I drew four female slugs on an index
card at the age of 12; I went on a field trip to the Georgia Aquarium in the 6th grade; I
was hit in the face with a basketball when I was 16; I am left handed; and I went to the
junior/senior prom twice in high school.
