PROJECTS:
-Systems Understanding Aid (SUA) project. Required the use of journals and ledgers in booklet form where we were the
accountants for a hypothetical organization. Had to enter cash receipts, foot and post totals to general ledger.
-SAP ERP project: Entered multiple transactions in the form of journal entries to simulate one month’s activities, including end
of period adjusting entries. Also, performed trial balance. Simulated full accounting cycle.
-Audit Command Language (ACL) project: Took information in various formats and put them together in one place in order to
be able to manipulate data for analysis.
EXPERIENCE:
Administrative Associate 3: InSync Staffing, Playa Del Rey, CA June 2015 – May 2016
-Worked independently, reviewing capital project files, and created an index sheet on excel; identifying the records located at
Playa Del Rey, and Aliso Canyon underground gas storage facilities. The index created also identified the applicable record
retention standard for each record indexed. One index was later used by a legal team in search of records.
-Worked at the Honor Rancho underground gas storage facility identifying records related to tank and vessel integrity
inspection reports. Kept in communication with storage manager, supervisor, and field engineer in order to assure entirety of
records available were located. Scanned and uploaded inspections records to Plant Design Management System (PDMS). When
necessary created new folders for a tanks or vessels on PDMS, and included their Maximo asset numbers.
-Created an index of well history, temperature, tests, and logs records; and administrative files located at the Aliso Canyon
underground storage facility. Index included categories identifying types of data found in the records relating to topics such as:
permits, leaks, tracers, ect.
Vehicle Cashier / PDI Technician / Porter: Longo Toyota, El Monte, CA Sept. 2004 – Jan. 2015
-As a vehicle cashier, was responsible for the collection of monies for down payments from customers, when they purchased or
leased a vehicle, and posted to the cash receipts journal through ADP (ERP). Handled questions and complaints from customers
and if unable to answer would direct them to who could. Also, was responsible for the cash drawer, and the petty cash drawer;
disbursed funds and collected receipts; assured their balances daily.
- Teamed with others to detail vehicles thoroughly and efficiently. That team consisted of 10 employees, while the volume of
vehicles maintained an average of 1,000 per month. This task was high in physical labor within the work day. Driven to
complete assigned tasks.
-Worked independently on evenings, in order to provide support for the sales department. Resolved issues regarding alarm
systems, and other vehicle issues that did not require major work.
- Coordinated with others to make sure vehicles are moved to where they need to be. In order to keep vehicles coming in and
out of the service department, when they came in for maintenance. (Typical Saturday involved 500 vehicles) This task required
significant amount of teamwork.
Cashier / Host, El 7 Mares Seafood Restaurant, East Los Angeles, CAJuly 2003- Sept 2004
- Kept control of the cash registers, and attended all guests as they entered the restaurant. Directed all incoming phone calls
and took all phone orders for pick up.
VOLUNTEER WORK:
Tax Preparer, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Jan 2014 - Mar 2014
- Used Taxwise Software, to prepare Federal and state income tax forms for low income taxpayers.
- Was required to take and pass IRS certification training courses: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Volunteered, Elegance Upholstery, Whittier, CA Sep 2013 - Oct 2013
- Installed updated version of QuickBooks, and created chart of accounts.
- Reconciled bank statements, credit card statements, and checkbook to populate chart of accounts to match year-to-date
expenses.
SKILLS:
-Languages: Fluent in written and spoken Spanish & English. Took AP exam for Spanish during high
School, and received a maximum score; resulted in college credit.
- Technical: PDMS, ADP, SAP, ACL, QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Taxwise.
- Cal Poly Society of Accountants, Club: as a member helped recruit students over the summer and performed volunteer work in
winter.
