Head of Programmes, Family and Childcare Trust, September 2015 to present
Leading on the delivery and innovation of parent-led programmes. Programme portfolio includes
our two flagship programmes: Parent Champions (10 year programme funded by the DfE) and the
Young Dads Collective (3 year programme funded by Esme Fairbairn). Recent programme
delivery has also included the Extended Schools and Nursery Outreach programmes. New
programme innovation includes Childcare Cooperatives (in Partnership with the New Economics
Foundation) and Little Village.

Worked with schools in Enfield, Redbridge and Luton Local Authorities. Strategic and business
support to the head teacher and senior management team on re-structuring, streamlining and
improving SEN systems and services. Training and advice for the SENCO, teachers and
teaching assistants.
4Children Consultant, Jan 2014-April 2015
National Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) programme
Consultant in the jointly commissioned 4children strategic partnership team working together
with the Council for Disabled Children and the DfE to deliver national support to teachers, Early
Years practitioners and local authorities in implementation of the new SEND code of practice.
Local Authority Improving Outcomes for 2 year olds programme
Consultant in team commissioned by Harrow Local Authority to complement and enhance
London borough of Harrow’s work to improve outcomes for young children and families. Hub
management of pre-school settings, children centres, schools, local authority staff and parents
to enhance quality, build capacity, broaden participation and support the home learning
environment.
Part time Barnet Local Authority Advisor, Area SENCO, Sept 2005-September 2015
Network management of Headteachers, managers and SENCOs in schools and nurseries to meet
the needs of children with SEND through person-centred services and support. This includes
consultation visits, multi-agency liaison, meetings with families and training. Work at local authority
level includes developing and running programmes, production of guidance documents, policies
and multidisciplinary team work.
Devonshire Hill Primary School Senior Management Team member and SENCO, Sept 2001-
July 2005
Part of a new team employed to bring the school out of special measures and restructure after
several years of decline. Worked as a senior manager with responsibility for over 30 members of
the support staff team. School leadership responsibility for SEND to raise teaching and learning
standards as well as setting up new systems and provision. The school successfully came out of
special measures within a year.
Raglan Primary School: Reception Teacher, Specialist SEN teacher, Teacher Governor
September 1999-July 2001
Alongside classroom teaching, specialist groups and individual support was set up to enable the
progress of children with SEN.
