Self Portrait
17x22”
This piece, done in graphite pencil, was
the one that started everything for me. This
piece was created last January and entered
into the Greenville Technical College’s
Annual Upstate High School Art Exhibit,
along with eight other pieces from my
school. It won 3rd place in the drawing
category and then won best in show at my
school's show. Soon after the awards for
this piece, I was given the opportunity to
attend the Pre-College program Rhode
Island School of Design (RISD) this past
summer.

Stairs
30x40”
This oil painting was my final project for
my painting foundations class at RISD's
Pre-College program this summer. It was
done from life in a stairwell over the course
of three days. This was a really fun piece
for me to do, as I finally put together all I
had learned in the class about color theory,
depth, and flow on a large scale. It isn't
perfect, but I am happy with how the
overall feel of the painting turned out; I
loved working with the lines, creating both
structure and depth.

Figure and gesture
drawing
14x17”
Using charcoal, I got to practice figure & gesture drawing
of live, nude models for various lengths of poses in my
drawing class at RISD. I was challenged to capture the
essence of the pose without disregarding the proportions of
the body. This is a skill I would like to become better at!
5. Portfolio of Artwork - Image 4
Color Of The Sky
7.8x11.3”
This abstract watercolor painting
was done in September for the
breadth portion of my AP Art/2D
Design Portfolio.

Figure Painting
16x20”
This oil painting of a live model lounging on a
red shirt was done in three hours in my painting
class at RISD. In this piece I practiced the
concepts of color theory and light along with
proportions of the body.
7. Portfolio of Artwork - Image 6
Waving Sun
9x9”
I used pen and ink and graphite to
create this zentangle. This piece was
created fall 2015 and entered into
the Greenville Technical College’s
Annual Upstate High School Art
Exhibit, along with eight other
pieces from my high school.
8. Portfolio of Artwork - Image 7
Mr. C. Fox
24x42”
This is a mixed media portrait of one of my favorite high
school teachers, created January 2017. I apologize for the
image quality; this piece is currently being juried in
Greenville Technical College’s Annual Upstate High
School Art Exhibit (2017) and I did not have a chance to
photograph it properly before sending it off.
9. Portfolio of Artwork - Image 8
Ink Wash Man
18x24”
This ink wash was done from life in
my drawing class at RISD.
10. Portfolio of Artwork - Image 9
Grace
10.5x13.5”
This is a portrait of my little sister
and her joyful personality. This
acrylic painting was done for an
assignment I had last year in art 1 to
mimic the cubism style.
11. Portfolio of Artwork - Image 10
Yes Fist
8x10”
This fist pump of positivity is
painted in oil.
12. I love the studio arts and am eager to learn new techniques during my college
studies. I am also focused on how to support myself after college as an artist whether
that be through having a job or starting my own business. I want to develop my skills,
style, and portfolio in a university setting that has a strong visual arts program in a
liberal arts setting in order to have a well rounded education. I enjoy using several
types of media such as oil painting, watercolor painting, graphite, and digital work. I
am fascinated by bright colors and patterns and am interested in studying and
developing textile designs. I am passionate about both visual art and Christian
ministries. A dream job would be to travel to a third world country to help others in
need through art. Whether that be teaching art, using art therapy, or doing art on the
side, I would love to use my art to make a difference. Right now it is just a lot of
brainstorming, and I am excited to see where an education in studio arts will take me.
Thanks for taking a look at my work!
