features that allow you to track
food, weight and water
consumption.
Pointers:
• Put in battery right away to make sure it is
not defective and check that it is turned on
each time worn
• The Touch screen provides six screens
indicate steps taken, calories burned,
distance traveled , a clock and the Fitbit
Smiley (highlights your recent activity
level)
• Every night at midnight, your Zip will reset
itself. This means your goal progress and
daily data will begin at zero again.
• Zip is not waterproof!
• Open and close battery compartment with
care!
• The Zip is known to cause some skin
irritation so it might be best not to make
direct contact with skin.
To access Fitbit
through your
smartphone…
Download the
app (fitbit)
from the app
store. Click the
download
button and
enter your
apple ID and
open the app.
Click the
existing user
button and
enter your
email and
Fitbit
password.
Click log in.
You will find a
dashboard
similar to that
on the
computer. The
dashboard still
tracks the
same
information.
This is the
home screen.
When you receive your Fitbit, tap the display to
make sure the tracker is on.
Next, plug its wireless USB dongle into the USB
port of your computer.
Go to the website www.fitbit.com/start/zip to
setup your Fitbit.
Click on the
download
button.
After installing
the software,
open the Fitbit
program on
your computer.
Once opened,
you will then
click on ‘Set
up a new Fitbit
device’.
Setting up Fitbit
through your
computer…
Make sure
your USB
dongle is
plugged in.
Once you click
continue, it
will begin to
search for your
Fitbit zip.
After your
device is
located, a
number will
appear on your
Fitbit zip.
Write the 4
digit number in
the spaces
provided.
You will then
arrive at this
screen. Click
on the ‘Go to
dashboard’
button to
explore the
features of
your new
device.
Click on ‘New
to Fitbit’.
Then you will
sign up by
inputting your
email address
and creating a
password.
The next
screen will ask
you some
information
about yourself
that you may
input.
After that, you
will select the
zip device.
Make sure
your USB
dongle is
plugged in.
Once you click
continue, it
will begin to
search for your
Fitbit zip.
After your
device is
located, a
number will
appear on your
Fitbit zip.
Write the 4
digit number in
the spaces
provided.
You will then
arrive at this
screen. Click
on the ‘Go to
dashboard’
button to
explore the
features of
your new
device.
The dashboard
features a log
for activity, food
and a weight
tracker.
The Fitbit itself
has six screens
(below):
(R to L; top row) steps taken, motivational screen,
miles traveled, (bottom row) calories burned, a
happy face (indicating you have walked 10,000
steps so far that day), and the time.
When wanting
to update your
Fitbit with the
computer, plug
in the wireless
sync dongle and
make sure your
Fitbit is nearby,
then click sync
now.
This screen will
appear when
the update in
complete.
