Emily made graduation possible for me, she was truly amazing.
Emily was incredibly helpful and supportive.
Emily is the best advisor I have ever had out of the many different schools I have attended. She has made
my experience enjoyable and I don't know how I would have done it without her.
The advisement session Emily provided was the deciding factor for me to apply to the UW Evening
degree program. Emily spent extra time with me and addressed all of my concerns and then some. She is
a credit to her department and I have encouraged my peers graduating community college to talk with
Emily about the program.
I went into my appointment with Emily feeling depressed about what was happening with my classes
and very unsure about what to do. But Emily has a way of lighting a path forward and helping me see
that things are good and I can count on her to provide the assistance I need.
3. Emily is an awesome adviser. She knows her stuff and is very straightforward and clear in
communicating information. She takes my questions seriously and is very responsive in answering them.
Emily Batlan is great! One of the best advisers I have ever worked with.
She was such a delight! Just lovely. I left feeling even more sure of my decision to return to UW and even
more certain that the evening program would be right for my goals. I hope I get to work with her again!
I met with Emily Batlan, and went into the meeting knowing certain items would still be needed for
clarification. She made me even more excited than I originally was about attending the University. These
are the perfect people to be advisors to help steer you in and not away from continuing education.
She was great. Very informative and took interest in who I was as a student. She is the main reason, after
exploring couple more schools, that I am heavily leaning toward applying here.

Emily was awesome! Thank you so much for your guidance!
Emily is great!
I started with other advisors, felt rushed/uncomfortable. Emily B is the best advisor and I always
recommend her to other/future EDP students.
Ms. Batlan rocks!
The only suggestion I have is in regards to the construction which was going on during the time of my
appointment. I have absolutely no complaint about the construction itself but rather the lack of sufficient
signage indicating the location of the meeting location, especially since the stairs were taped off.
Thankfully, there was a woman in the last office on the second floor (I didn't get her name) that was able
to get me to my appointed location via a back hallway. All in all a fantastic experience.
Emily was great! I was very nervous about beginning my career as a student again, and Emily was very
encouraging. I know it is going to take me a bit of time to finish, and after leaving her office, I realize
that not only is that okay, but I can accomplish it.
Emily has always been an amazing advisor. I look forward to our quarterly sessions - she is
knowledgeable, relatable, and working with her makes me feel confident that I am on the right track.
Meeting with an adviser helped me make my decision to apply to the program. It also made me more
excited about completing my degree through UW.
Emily is so fabulous! Couldn't ask for a better advisor
Emily is a huge part of why I've been successful
Emily was very helpful, as usual!
It's been a great pleasure to work with Emily. She has expressed genuine concern and detail to my
matter. I met her at a Transfer Thursday two weeks ago and found out about this program because of
her presentation. Thanks for all your support Emily!

accommodating.

for the evening degree program!
Emily is honestly the best adviser that I have had at the UW. She has helped me in so many ways during
my years at the UW. She is a great and valuable asset to the UW.

Emily is always extremely helpful, respects my situation and needs, and offers me options that have
enhanced make my experience in the UW Evening Degree program immensely. And, she has amazing
energy and clearly loves what she does!
EDP Changed my life...for the better.
Emily was extremely helpful and just what I needed. She was engaged, seemed sincerely interested and
answered all my questions. I was in with an adviser last year and felt rushed in and out of the meeting,
and left with many unanswered questions...it wasn't a good feeling! I'm an older returning college
student and want to make sure I understand the process so I very much appreciate the patience and
interest Emily showed during our appt. I'm confident I have a good plan in place moving forward. A BIG
Thank you to Emily! :)
There is never a time that I don't look forward to seeing Emily and talking about my classes, options,
goals and plans. She is terrific, knowledgeable, supportive and professional.
Emily was very eager to help out, and she got me excited about finally finishing my degree. Thank you
very much and you will see my application soon.

are all so lovely! Thanks!!
Emily, and the whole advisor staff, has always been courteous, helpful, and caring.
Academic Advising has consistently provided excellent service. It is a real strength of the University and a
key reason why I chose the UW.
Emily was wonderful, and her guidance was excellent!
Emily was great. She helped me evaluate the program and answered all of my questions. She also gave
me her contact information to follow up with her if I needed more information or had further questions.
Emily is very motivating and inspirational!!! She is the greatest!! When I first met her I already had a
warm feeling and felt good to open up and have her help me!!! She rocks!!!
7. Emily was wonderful to speak with. Thank you.
Without the help of Emily, I would still be stuck on the couch and not be motivated at all!!! I am so
thankful and appreciative to have her support, knowledge, and she listens, understands, and just have a
positive energy to her!!! She's amazing!!!!
Emily has been amazing so far. I am confident that my adviser is well-informed, has current information
on both the classes and the professors, and is willing to actually make suggestions. She's been hugely
helpful
Emily was so understanding and helpful. She's the first person I've talked to in any higher ed institution
(aside from professors) who seems to really care. I felt so much better after talking to her, and felt like
she gave me a lot of clarity in regard to my options.
I received advising from a different adviser prior to working with Emily. Emily was a joy! I felt she listened
closely and was not discouraged by the many questions I had. My previous experience was not very
helpful, partly because it was not in person, but also it felt as though they were losing patience with the
number of questions I was asking. I wanted to ensure I had a thorough understanding of the degree and
application process; Emily answered all of my questions graciously, showed patience, and a genuine
interest in my success at UW. I look forward to working with her more once I begin!
Emily is great and a big reason I went ahead and applied to the program. I had a great initial meeting
with her and was really excited about it when I left. I had a follow up meeting when I was accepted and
it was just as informative, positive and encouraging.
Emily is always a pleasure to work with. She is incredibly supportive, encouraging and creative! I always
leave feeling heard about my concerns and she gives great direction to resolving any concerns. I feel very
fortunate that she is my advisor. I have recommended her to many of my friends that are considering
returning to the UW to complete their degrees.
Emily was great to talk to and was knowledgeable, down to earth, and genuine. I'm excited to get t o
know her more and be able to go to her when I need advising .
Emily was extremely helpful!
Emily was a pleasure to work with! I look forward to our working together in the future.
Emily Batlan is a wonderful adviser and did a wonderful job helping me taking my first steps to
enrollment. I am more confident knowing that I will be able to speak with her about any questions that I
have in regards to my program choice.
Emily is by far the best advisor I have worked with in either high school, university, or community college.
Her enthusiasm is contagious. Her knowledge is outrageous. Thank you!
