The document discusses how the filmmakers attracted and addressed their audience for a thriller film. They used intense film techniques like mise-en-scene, camera angles, sound, flashbacks, and jump cuts to build tension. They also included a voiceover and mysterious shots of the stepfather to tell the story and create an immersive atmosphere for viewers. To address audiences, the filmmakers planned to show the film in large cinema chains for a wide release internationally and on Netflix. They would also use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to advertise clips and a trailer of the film in order to engage viewers and target teenagers.
2. Attracting our audience
■ We wanted to make our opening to be very intense so that there is more tension when the
audience is watching the film. We did this by using; mise-en-scene, camera angles and sound.
However in terms in terms of editing; we included flashbacks throughout our opening, we also
including jump cut with videos near the end of the thriller. We also added dramatic music
within the background of the thriller to intensify and further add to the intense atmosphere
that we are trying to create, at the beginning of the opening after the credits have played we
used slow jazz music and a sound effect of fire crackling, the sound of the fire crackling
matches the video that is being played, we also added the jazz music to contrast to the
atmosphere that we will create later in the opening. The main use of sound that we had used
was the voice over; this was used to tell the story as Naomi was talking about what had
happened with her stepfather and her relationship with him, we also had her explain her
mental disorder so the audience are more aware that it is a factor of the thriller. We have also
used multiple techniques using the camera, which helps create a solid atmosphere that fits
the scene. The opening scene of the fire we used a close-up camera angle. This was to give
the effect that the flame was completely engulfing and surrounding of the camera which
resembles how Naomi's character felt whilst being stalked. This makes the film much more
immerse for the audience. We also have a shot in the abandoned area where the pictures of
Lilith are hung, in this the stepfather is shown but his face isn't, this shows the mystery hidden
in the character, this could also represent that his intentions are unclear or that he wants the
pictures to be hidden and not to be found, he knows what he is doing is wrong so he covers it
up by hiding his identity with black clothing and a black mask so his identity is not shown.
3. Addressing our audience - Cinemas
■ One way for us to address the audience of our thriller would be the cinemas that we
would allow to show our film; we would use larger cinema companies such as
Odeon and Cineworld as they are trusted by the public and would show and
advertise the film to a suitable audience. These cinemas are not restricted to the
Uk meaning that it allows a wider range of cultures and countries to see our film
and not be limited to only the USA and UK. We could also potentially publish the
film on Netflix. This would be an effective way as several people have access to
an account.

4. Addressing our audience –social media
■ We would use social media to address our audience as this is effective due to its
high impact on society in the modern day world, we could advertise and interact
with our audience and fans on social media sites such as; Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram or Youtube. We would not be able to upload our whole film onto these
websites as it would be too long for the apps, but we can advertise our media
but add our most intense and thrilling clips to grab the audience's attention and
interest them, we could also upload a trailer for our thriller as it would have the
same effect. With using social media accounts, it allows it to reach the age group
that I have targeted. This is due to a lot of teenagers having a social media
account.
