Cyber-Bullying Must Be Stopped
1. Cyber-bulling Must Be Stopped
Should cyber-bullying be stopped? Some people shamelessly deject others by being a
bully themselves, while some fall victims on the hands of these oppressive bullies.
Morever, I strongly believe that bullying, of all forms, must be stopped.
“Cyber-bullying” is any bullying done through the use of technology or electronic means.
In this age of pervasive modern technology, there seems to be no way to stay out of the
bully’s schemes. Even the social media sites have been made by bullies a medium to
easily target the vulnerable ones. On the bullies’ point of view, they just wanted to form
a type of social ranking. Some bullies do it because they wanted to seek attention, some
do it because of insecurities, while some do it because of a past experience. I know it’s
right to understand them too, but is it right for them to stay this way?
Whatever the reason they have for being a bully, I strongly disagree to cyber-bullying.
First of all, it is a right of every person to be respected as a person – whether in personal
or in technology means. Second, belittling others won’t make the bullies somewhat
bigger. Burning other’s candle won’t make theirs shine brighter. Shaming others won’t
make them look bad, instead, the bully would only make himself look worse. It only
takes a second to call a person fat or stupid, but he may take a lifetime trying to think
that that’s what he really is.
For all these reasons, I suggest that change is the ample thing to do. Any change, even if
not for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts. To the ones
being bullied, I advice them to not shush their inner voice, cause it’s who they really are.
People can never change something that they refuse to confront. Convince the bullies to
be someone who makes someone else look forward to tomorrow. Close the doors, not
because of pride, incapacity, or arrogance, but simply because they no longer lead to
something fruitful. I know this transformation is hard, but at least they’ll be falling into
someone different with the new capacity of being better.
