Academic Relationship Builder IES Abroad holds an Annual Conference for our members to discuss study abroad and internships topics, including academic standards and assessment, faculty and program development, and maximizing the academic, personal, and professional benefits of study abroad. Internships with Academic Credit Every IES intern is required to participate in a seminar for academic credit. This seminar continues throughout the internship, providing students with an introduction to the local economic environment, preparation for entering the work world, skills for communicating across cultures and working on diverse teams, and strategies for developing leadership abilities. In addition, interns communicate regularly with IES Internship Coordinators to ensure that they have the support they need to successfully accomplish the projects you set out for them. As the intern’s supervisor, you will contribute to the student’s professional development and have input into their grade.
