Discipline in schools is different to now a days.
Growing up obedience and respect is very important. Taught to give high respect to our elders, paying attention, look in eyes, when they call you come immediately. “children are seen but not heard” OR “you speak if spoken to” Children are not allowed i grown folk conversation.
My mother’s time, punishment was a switch, my time, punishment are belts. Branches aren’t common anymore.
