important.

of cloth worn by women.
GABLON, a hand-woven textile made
usually from cotton, abaca, or
pineapple fibers
9. Antipolo Weaving
Antiquenos are renowed weavers
throughout the Visayas.
BUGASONG PATADYONG, a tube
cotton fabric of plaid design, is highly
valued.
PINA CLOTH is also produced in
looms.
10. Negros Weaving
In Valencia, Negros Oriental, sinamay weaving is a
world-class industry. It is made from abaca twine
and indigineous plant similar to banana.
Bags, baskets, wall décor draperies and many
others are product of sinamay.
It is a less-fine tissue, but almost transparent and
far more durable that the fabrics made from
pineapple fibles.
11. Samar Weaving
Samar is very known for its
beautiful and colorful hand-woven
banig (mat) that are made from
tikog or pandan leaves.
The weavers are commonly
known as PARAGLARA.

This craft is called dagmay being
passed on generation to
