Day/s Objectives Topics Classroom- Based Activities
1-3
Trace the pathway of
gas from the
environment to the
blood
Relate the function
of the respiratory
system to the
circulatory system in
providing oxygen to
the cell
Apply concepts
learned in the
respiratory and
circulatory system in
The Respiratory and
Circulatory Systems
Lesson 1- The
Respiratory System: Its
Parts and Functions
Begin with classroom rules:
a. Prayer
b. Reminder of the classroom health and safety protocols.
c. Checking of Attendance
d. Greetings
A. Recall (Elicit)
Review the previous class discussion/activity.
B. Motivation (Engage)
Materials: Paper towel, small mirror
Procedure:
1. Clean and dry the mirror using the paper towel

SJBIB – SF 11
2. having a healthy
lifestyle
3. Observe any changes on the surface of the mirror
Guide Questions:
1. What happened to the mirror?
2. What caused the information of fog on the surface of the mirror?
3. What did you learn from this activity?
C. Discussion of concepts (Explore)
Present the lesson about The Respiratory System: Its Parts and Functions. Encourage active class
participation.
D. Developing Mastery (Explain)
Check and progress the given assessment about Respiratory System: Its Parts and Functions. Encourage
active class participation.
E. Application and Generalization (Elaborate)
Enrich understanding of the lesson through further explanation and concrete examples. Give a
performance task activity about the respiratory system (Lung model).
F. Evaluation
Let the learner answer the function of the respiratory system and they can give quizzes or tests that include
questions related to the function of the respiratory system.
G. For the assignment, provide the students questions. They should also determine the parts of circulatory
system.
3. 3-5 Lesson 2- The
Circulatory System: Its
Parts and Functions
Begin with classroom rules:
a. Prayer
b. Reminder of the classroom health and safety protocols.
c. Checking of Attendance
d. Greetings
A. Recall (Elicit)
Review the previous class discussion/activity about The Respiratory System: Its Parts and
Functions
A. Motivation (Engage)
a. Determine the prior knowledge of the learners about the circulatory system in providing oxygen
to the cell. Explain the learning objectives for the week.
B. Discussion of concepts (Explore)
a. Present the lesson about The Circulatory System: Its Parts and Functions. Encourage active class
participation.
C. Developing Mastery (Explain)
a. Check and progress the given assessment about Circulatory System: Its Parts and Functions.
Encourage active class participation.
D. Application and Generalization (Elaborate)
Teachers can assess the students' learning based on the learning objectives by using rubrics to evaluate
their performance in the activities. Enrich understanding of the lesson through further explanation and
concrete examples. Give a performance task and state the effects of various activities on one’s heart rate.
E. Evaluation
They can give quizzes or tests that include questions related to the function of the circulatory system.
