2. STONEHENGE!!!
This is one of the most puzzling landmarks
in the English countryside .
Giant rocks stand in a mysterious circle .
Scientists cannot agree what the site was
used for: some say it was a giant
astronomical calendar, others say it was a
place to worship the gods.
One thing they all agree on is that the
people who built Stonehenge were very
intelligent and had an amazing knowledge
of the solar system !!!

5. GOBEKLI TEPE, TURKEY!!!
This is probably the most important and most
mysterious archaeological site in the world as it is
12,000 years old!
The site was buried for thousands of years and was
discovered by a shepherd in 1994!
These huge stones are beautifully designed with
animals such as lions, crocodiles and birds.
All this at a time when we were supposed to be still
living in caves!

8. Easter island, the Pacific Ocean!!!
The Moai statues stand on Easter Island
in the Pacific Ocean, and are a complete
puzzle to scientists.
They all face one direction and stand as
thought guarding the island.
To this day the statues remain a mystery.
Why were they built? Why do they face
a single direction? How were the huge,
heavy statues carried and placed in
position?
These questions are still waiting for
answers!!!
