The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
2. At first I saved all my work onto a
16GB memory stick but then I
realised that I ran out of memory.
Therefore I brought a new
memory stick which was a 64 GB
so it could hold all my files such
as images and videos. This is
because my videos which I used
for my music video took up the
majority of the space on my
memory stick.
I felt safer carrying my memory
stick around with me rather
than my SD card because it is
smaller and I am more likely to
lose my SD card.
Memory Stick
3. Mobile Phone/Digital Camera
I have a Samsung camera and a Samsung Smartphone phone. I didn't use the camera
on my phone because the camera of my phone is a CMOS, 5.0MP (megapixels) where
as my camera is a CMOS 14MP.
This meant I received a better quality of image from my camera as it has higher
megapixels.
Also my camera has an 18x zoom which meant I could focus on certain aspects of my
model more clearly with a sharper focus.
I then changed the setting so I had a 3x3 grid so I could line the models face up with
the boxes to try and create a symmetrical frame (on the close ups).
4. Laptop and Computer
I used my own laptop which is a Samsung so I could carry on working
on my coursework at home. I like using the laptop because it is
portable which meant I could do my work at any time , anywhere.
I used a computer when I was at college. I had the option to work on a
Mac but I am more familiar with PCs therefore I chose to work on
them.
5. SD Card
I used a 16GB SD Card which I could insert into my camera. This allowed
all my videos and images to be saved onto a transportable device. The
laptop I used has an SD card slot so this meant it was quicker to
transport my files onto this device. The computer I used also had a hard
drive with a SD card slot so I can also transfer these files onto my
computer. Therefore I didn’t need to use an SD Card reader.
6. Tripod
I used a standard tripod to help keep the camera steady during filming. It was also
essential when tilting up and down to prevent the camera stuttering. I used my own
Tripod so it meant I could go and film at anytime.
7. Types Of Software
The Edit Suit
Photoshop
Blogger
Prezi
Storyboard
YouTube
SlideShare
Survey Monkey
Emaze
8. The Edit Suit
I had the option to edit on a
Mac or a PC. I chose to edit
my music video on a PC as I
am more familiar with this
software. The editing
software which I used is
Adobe Premiere Pro CC
2015. However I did need to
watch some tutorial videos
to help me work this
software.
I only had access to this
software at college which
meant I was restricted to
when I could edit my music
video together.
9. Photoshop
In order to make my DIGIPAK and
Poster I used the software
Photoshop. However I do not have
access to this software at home so
it meant I was restricted to when I
could work on my ancillary texts. I
have worked on this software
before so I feel like I was able to
use this software very
confidently.
10. Blogger
This is my blog address
...
http://a2mediaeilishgl
adwin.blogspot.co.uk
My blog is the most
important part of my
coursework because
this is were I shared all
my finished products
and development and
research. I chose my
own colour scheme
and layout. I think my
blog is easy to read
and it is easy to access
my work.
11. Prezi is a new
software which I
have used this year
for the first time. I
really like this
software as it is a
great way to
represent my work.
However it is very
time consuming as it
can take a while to
change the paths
within a set
template.
Prezi
12. I used
http://www.storyboardth
at.com/
in order to make a
storyboard for my music
video. I found using this
software very difficult as I
could not save my work as
I did not set up a
membership account.
Instead I used screenshots
from this website and put
together my own
storyboard on PowerPoint
and Adobe Premiere Pro
CC.
Storyboard
13. During my planning and research task I used YouTube to watch different types
of music videos. From this I was able to take inspiration for my own music
video. For example I watched Concrete Angel which has an underlying message
of child abuse. I knew I then wanted to create an underlying message to my
own music video.
I also used YouTube to watch tutorials such as different editing techniques
which I could use on Adobe Premiere Pro CC. I found this very useful as it
meant I was learning new ways to edit my video.
YouTube
14. This was my favourite
piece of software as it
allowed me to upload my
PowerPoints onto a
SlideShare format. This
made it easier and clearer
to read my work from.
Without this software I
would have needed to
upload my PowerPoints as
JPEGs onto my blog.
Therefore this website
allowed me to use a
clearer way to represent
my work.
SlideShare
15. I have used Survey
Monkey before and I
found it very useful.
Therefore I have
decided to use it again
because it helps with
my audience
feedback. From my
responses I am able to
make changes to my
products to make
them better.
Survey Monkey
16. Emaze
This is my first year of
using Emaze. I really
enjoyed using this website
as I was able to represent
my work in a different way.
However I rarely used
Emaze because I found it
very difficult to use at first.
Although in comparison to
Prezi I was able to
construct a new way of
representing my work and
adding more slides proved
to be a lot more simple.
