2. Step 1 First you are going to need a string winder tool, new guitar strings ( Ernie Ball 11-48) if you play heavy or fast, and a pair of wire snips. You are going to start by taking your string winder and loosening the top string. To make sure that you are loosening the right string, pluck the string and the pitch should go down, which is what you want. If you tighten it to much the string will break and could cause injury. Continue to loosen every string and pull them out of the guitars underside.

3. Step 2 Open the sting package an select the sixth string, it will be the heaviest gauge in the pack. ( the fastest string) You will start by feeding the string through the back side plate on the guitar. Once fed through pull sting over the pick ups and down the neck right into the tuning knob.

4. Step 3 Feeding the guitar string though the tuning knob is easy, it jut has to be done right to prevent the string from slipping once its being tuned. You going to want to bend the stings end about half inch to a full inch down. Then slide the sting into the tuning knob. Turn the knob 1 to 2 turns, then over lap the string and almost tie it into a knot. Proceed to turn the knob and tighten the string only to higher pitch not too much, and keep in mind to turn every know after the same direction so that the strings do not look stupid and touching each other causing friction.

Step 4 After all of the guitar strings are in place, and have a proper amount of tension on them, you are going to then take your wire snips and start cutting the excess off the ends sticking out of the tuning knobs. Do so to each string. After that is all done, you need to then start pulling a little on each string as you increase the tension, so not to break them as your tuning.

6. Step 5 Now that you have all of your stings on your “Git Fiddle” your are now ready to start the tuning process. There are certain ways of tuning a guitar but, you don’t have to follow them. If you want a high pitch sound you start by tuning the top string to the pitch that you want (keep in mind the higher the pitch the more pressure you must apply to the string to get a good sound.) then put your finger on the fifth fret top string and pluck, while its still ringing pluck the second string and tune it until the 2nd string matches the pitch of the top string and so on and so forth until all strings are tuned.

7. Your done Now that you have learned how to string a guitar and tune it you can go on to make your neighbors hate you even more, maybe even get the cops on you for playing too loud. What ever the case maybe, you can show young guitar players how to string their guitar. Have fun!
