Approach to Sustainability
• Vision:
• We envision ourselves of becoming the leading and most trusted name in the field of material
handling and logistics through innovative and continual improvement programs that not only benefit
our clients but create a healthy and sustainable ethos for future generations.
• Mission:
• To provide optimal quality of services to our clients in material handling, mining, dewatering, logistics,
port operations and other allied services and strive to deliver operational excellence in all of our
commitments.
• Policy:
• To work towards providing a safe and healthy working environment at its service points and take
adequate steps to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of work process by minimising as
far as possible, the causes of hazards inherent in the working environment.
• Objectives:
1. Ensure customer satisfaction.
2. 100% Safety Compliance.
3. Provide training to our employees at an average of 8 hours/employee/annum.
4. Unloading of materials from railway rakes within stipulated railway norms.
5. Two Health Check up per employee per year.
6. 100% availability of Equipments.
7. One Kaizen per Site per 6 Months.

Bus Service for Employees (Safety & Health)
• NKCPL became the 1st vendor to start Bus Service for its
employees with the main objective of bringing employees from TSL
Gate to Shop Floor and vice-versa.
Bus Service was introduced at Central Hub,
CSD in the month of November, 2011
Bus Service was introduced at RMM in the
month of July, 2012

NKCPL Family Counseling (Safety & Health)
• Family Members of Employees like Drivers, Riggers, helpers, etc.
were called at Branch Office for Safety Counselling and
Awareness which instilled a sense of belongingness in them.

Workshop on Safety & Operational Excellence, 2nd May, 2016
(Safety & Health)
• NKCPL organised a workshop on “Safety & Operational Excellence” to
find out the measures to prevent incidents/accident at RMM by
doing Root Cause Analysis with the help of Team Work and proper
Communication between Vendor Partners.

Dumper Covering System (Environment)
• Introduction of Covered Dumpers to eliminate Spillage from
Dumpers.

Driver Training Programme from “Clean-Air Asia”
(Environment)
• NKCPL conducted a programme to address the issue of environmental
sustainability by reducing carbon emissions from vehicles and increasing
fuel efficiency of the vehicle used by the company.
• NKCPL committed towards reducing carbon emissions by accumulating
Carbon Foot Printing Data.

Drinking Water Facility at Birarajpur Railway Station (CSR)
• NKCPL installed a drinking water facility at Birarajpur Railway
Station to provide relief not only to the passengers but also local
people who had no access to clean drinking water.

Implementation of 100 MT Capacity Vehicle (Logistics)
• NKCPL has introduced a 100 MT capacity vehicle to reduce
congestion and increase number of trips between mills. This has not
only improved operational efficiency but also impacted positively
towards Safety ensuring less man movement & vehicle movement
and Environment by producing lower fuel emissions per trip.

• NKCPL conducted a literacy programme for its workmen staff and
their families to generate awareness about the importance of
education for their children. It also benefitted children residing in
the nearby areas.

A “Flask” has been distributed to all Drivers
and Operators so that they can carry
tea/beverage during night shift to prevent
Fatigueness
A “Driver Alarm” has been introduced which
is to be worn by Drivers on their ears. The
device will vibrate whenever the Driver feels
sleepy

• Dewatering project at Jamadoba.
• Introduction of Higher Capacity and Customised Vehicles at TSL Jamshedpur and Odisha Project
(KPO).
• Earnestly interested for Port Operations venture with Tata Steel Limited in Odisha and West
Bengal.
• Steel Handling Stockyards & Warehouses / Manufacturer’s Depot in-and-around Kolkata region
& KPO.
• Mining and Logistics operations in East (Jamadoba, West Bokaro, Jamshedpur & KPO), North
(Delhi & NCR region).
