Task:
Using the running order schedule breakdown of the different sections of your radio programme
that you produced in Planning task 1_Radio script draft, write the script for the different
sections. Remember to time every section of your script to make sure that it fits on the runnig
order schedule.
Dylan P (host) : You’re tuned in, to Radio D 96.5, the local station you love where the best music is
made and played. I am proud to announce that we have THE, Tomiwa Abiola. An established actor
with more accolades than fingers on my hand [interrupted with Tomiwa’s laugh]. Welcome to the
show Tomiwa!
Tomiwa A : [interrupts with a laugh] It’s a pleasure to be here.
Dylan P (host) : So tell the audience about your upcoming role, please.
Tomiwa A : Alright, so basically. I’m playing this man, Joel Miller, and he’s based within this
dystopian future where a fungal infection has created a pandemic that has brought the world to its
knees. And Joel, has suffered the loss of his daughter just as the world has been driven into a state of
panic.
Dylan P (host) : Right
Tomiwa A : And the story basically takes place when Joel and his partner, who he wasn’t with prior
to the pandemic, are tasked with taking this girl across Boston to what are called ‘the fire flies’
because they… [interrupted by Dylan (host)]
Dylan P (host) : [interrupting Tomiwa] Sorry to interrupt you, but just for the listeners at home, the
fire flies are?
Tomiwa A : Oh, they’re basically this democratic organisation set on restoring order to the world,
and this girl, Elle, who’s safety is placed in the hands of Joel ,me, and Tess, who my co-star Anna Torv
plays, and basically the fireflies believe Anna’s blood can be used as a vaccine to bring an end to the
infected.

Tomiwa A : Ummm… Well it’s produced by HBO so I’m not entirely sure when its available to stream
in the UK. But episodes out every Sunday at 9:00 US time.
