2. introduction
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was a prominent figure in 19th-century
India and one of the most influential Muslim reformers and
educationalists of his time. He was born on October 17, 1817, in
Delhi, which was then part of the Mughal Empire. Sir Syed
Ahmad Khan is known for his efforts to promote modern
education and social reforms among Muslims in India.
He was in died 27 March 1898
In 1875, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan founded the Muhammadan
Anglo-Oriental College in Aligarh, which later evolved into the
prestigious Aligarh Muslim University. The institution aimed to
provide a modern education to Muslims and promote the values
of tolerance, scientific inquiry, and rational thinking.

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan recognized the importance of education for the
progress of the Muslim community. He established In 1875 the
Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in Aligarh (which later became
Aligarh Muslim University) to provide modern education based on Western
principles. His aim was to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic
knowledge and modern science and technology.

British communities. Sir Syed believed that Muslims needed to engage with
