Naimittika Rasayana

disease. The concept emerges in sushruta-samhita and is more cleatly stated by

13. Mode of Action
The dravyas and ahara used in rasayana contain antioxidants which
inhibits the oxidation process and the production of free radicals causing
damage to the cells. The answer to prevent all these is employing Rasayana in
our daily needs.
The role of super oxide dismutase of the rasayana drugs also catalyzes the
dismutation of super oxide radical in to an ordinary molecular oxygen by
maintaining the physiology of the eye and rebuilt the ageing tissue and
extending the length of that particular tissue.
14. Immuno-modulatory action of the drugs is an effective as well as
protective approach in many eye disorders whether primary or secondary

of the main motto of Ayurveda.
