Characterization, Fabrication and Driving
Flat panel displays play a vital role in this information-intensive era. The
global flat panel display market is projected to be worth US$ 135 billion by
2020. Advances in display technologies have enabled the development of
human-information interface which is an integral constituent in todays
consumer electronic products such as smartphones, tablet computers,
televisions, automotive displays etc. Due to increasing global demand for
more efficient and large displays, manufacturer's are always researching
into new display technologies. The holy-grail for displays is field emission
display technology that allows manufacturers to use existing
manufacturing processes and materials to address the growing demand
and also keep their manufacturing cost low.
Dr. Mohammed Zubair M. Shamim earned his Ph.D.
in Electronics Engineering & Physics from the
University of Dundee (United Kingdom). His research
interests are in solid-state devices and their
applications in micro-nano technology. He is currently
an Associate Professor in electrical engineering at
King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia.
