The 2018 Civil Engineering
Research in Ireland conference
(CERI2018) was jointly
organised by the Civil
Engineering Research
Association of Ireland (CERAI)
and the Irish Transportation
Research Network (ITRN). This
year's conference was hosted by
University College Dublin on 29-
30 August.
Along with 8 keynote speakers,
there were 147 full peer-reviewed
technical papers on civil
engineering and transport topics
were presented at the conferences
including:
• Bridge Engineering
• Concrete Technology
• Geotechnical Engineering
• Transportation
• Environmental Engineering
• Structural Engineering
• Pedagogy in Civil
Engineering
It was the largest conference to
date with over 220 people
registered for the conference.
At Arup research is the creation
and sharing of knowledge inspired
by the work we do and the
challenges we face. We use
targeted thinking, analysis and
experimentation to strengthen the
firm, keep us moving forward, and
differentiate us from our
competitors. Research
complements Foresight,
Innovation and Skills. It
identifies the gaps in the global
market and sponsors collaboration
with external partners.
Arup presence was noticeable
with 10 papers covering many
aspects of our work. The papers
addressed Arup way of thinking
and problem solving. The
authors and paper titles are listed
