Dr. Giorgina Pinedo-Rolón
Giorgina Pinedo-Rolón was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She obtained a degree in Business
Administration from Andres Bello Catholic University. She moved to United States in 1986.
Since then she earned a Masters in TV Production and Journalism and a PhD in Social
Phycology.
She worked for Walt Disney World for nine years as a Merchandise Buyer. After Disney, she
began a new career in the field of media. She has extensive experience in television, print,
and radio. Giorgina served as Director of Production and Public Relations, and television
host for Telemundo Orlando. After nine years with Telemundo, she was hire by Casiano
Communications Imagen Magazine Florida, where she served as Chief Editor. Currently, she
is the President and owner of Gio Communications, a communications agency focused on,
public relations, branding, Hispanic outreach, media specialist, government affairs and
marketing.
Giorgina has been very involved with the business community and the local government of
Central Florida. She has been recognized for her work with the following awards:
Executive of the Year HABLA Awards, Girl Scouts of Citrus, Women of Distinction Awards
Visionary of the year, Orlando Business Journal Forty under Forty Award, Working
Together Outstanding Community Service Award, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Metro
Orlando 25 Most Influential. Just to name a few.
Dr. Pinedo-Rolón is the immediate past chair of the board of directors of the Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce Metro Orlando and board member of the following organizations:
Economic Development Commission, Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund, Hispanic
Business Initiative Fund, Crimeline and the Hope Community Center. She is also part of the
Central Florida Transportation Task Force and a Member of the CFCH Family Homelessness
committee. She was a former board member of the Orange County Membership and Mission
Review Board, Coalition for the Homeless, Easter Seals, former President of National
Association of Hispanic Journalists Central Florida Chapter.
She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, National Association of
Hispanic Journalists, the American Association of Marketing and Public Relations, Hispanic
Public Relations Association, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Metro Orlando, National
Association of Professional Women and Lifetime member of NALEO (National Association of
Latino Elected Officials.
Giorgina is married to Orlando Rolón; she has 2 step kids and two granddaughters
