challenges that emanates from the global world. Researches are being
made across the globe in these vulnerable areas with a view to
delivering satisfactory solutions to the poverty issues challenges arising
out of them. This book is a compliment in this direction.
This book focuses on the various issues through its 27 chapters, those
are concern with poverty alleviation, issues, impact of various policies,
poverty inequality, poverty among women, poverty eradication through
SHG's and micro finance institutions, social capital and household
workers in rural Punjab, rural poverty in Indian context, poverty
reduction through horticulture multi-pronged strategy to alleviate the
poverty in India, challenges the repeated natural disasters in mountains,
poverty alleviation through tourism, migration, security and poverty (In
special context of metro cities construction workers).
About the book
And other major issues of poverty in India. It was 1991, when the
GOI took the initiative for economic reforms in India by
introduction the Liberalization Privatization and Globalization. This
is the historical reference point from which we could look back at
the various reforms in the Indian Economy.
The President's address to Parliament has sought to put rest charges
that the Narendra Modi government is pro-corporate, by unveiling
propoor plans for eliminating poverty, fighting food inflation and
providing urban facilities in rural areas. The blueprint of the
government for the coming months also has a contingency plan for
sub-normal monsoon, crop insurance and reforming the Public
Distribution System. The thrust of the President's speech was Modi's
economy revival plans and how this would help the middle class and
the poor by creating more jobs and giving a boost to growth and
development.
About the book
The slogans given by Modi during the election campaign, "Ek
Bharat, Shresht Bharat (One India, Great India)", "Sabka
Saath, Sabka Vikas (Taking all together, progress of all) were
highlighted in the speech. But the running theme of the speech
was the fight to eradicate poverty and improve the condition of
the poor. "Poverty has no religion, hunger has no creed, and
despair has no geography. The greatest challenge before us is
to end the curse of poverty in India. My government will not
be satisfied with mere "poverty alleviation"; and commits
itself to the goal of 'poverty elimination',“ Mukherjee said.
This book also focuses on the Modi Mantra to create magical
reforms in Rural Bharat and Chinese strategy to transform the
Chinese rural sector.

Some Heart-Felling and Pain Giving Examples of
Poverty
l Assam recorded 500 poverty-driven deaths between 2009 and
2011. (Times of India 25/1/13)
l Unable to bear the pain of poverty, a man killed his wife, son and
then ended his life at Hoskote on 31st October. Shivaraj Joshi (30)
from Nepal, who worked as a security guard at a local factory,
Fighting Poverty In India: Multi-Pronged Strategy Required 59
killed his wife Usha (30) and son Nikhil (3). Neelam, the older
daughter, who was in home at the time of the incident, managed
to escape by running out of the house in Bangalore (New Indian
Express 1/11/13)
l A three-month-old girl child died at Kottathara in Attappady in
the early hours of Friday, allegedly owing to malnutrition. As many
as 39 tribal infants have died in Attappady since January this year
despite various measures taken by the Central and State
governments to address the issue. The child belonged to Lakshmi
and Shivan of the Chundakulam tribal hamlet at Sholayur grama
panchayat. This is the third such death reported from Attappady
this month in Palakkad, Kerala. (The Hindu 10/11/13)

  • 3. About the book And other major issues of poverty in India. It was 1991, when the GOI took the initiative for economic reforms in India by introduction the Liberalization Privatization and Globalization. This is the historical reference point from which we could look back at the various reforms in the Indian Economy. The President's address to Parliament has sought to put rest charges that the Narendra Modi government is pro-corporate, by unveiling propoor plans for eliminating poverty, fighting food inflation and providing urban facilities in rural areas. The blueprint of the government for the coming months also has a contingency plan for sub-normal monsoon, crop insurance and reforming the Public Distribution System. The thrust of the President's speech was Modi's economy revival plans and how this would help the middle class and the poor by creating more jobs and giving a boost to growth and development.
  • 4. About the book The slogans given by Modi during the election campaign, "Ek Bharat, Shresht Bharat (One India, Great India)", "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas (Taking all together, progress of all) were highlighted in the speech. But the running theme of the speech was the fight to eradicate poverty and improve the condition of the poor. "Poverty has no religion, hunger has no creed, and despair has no geography. The greatest challenge before us is to end the curse of poverty in India. My government will not be satisfied with mere "poverty alleviation"; and commits itself to the goal of 'poverty elimination',“ Mukherjee said. This book also focuses on the Modi Mantra to create magical reforms in Rural Bharat and Chinese strategy to transform the Chinese rural sector.
