2. Cross Generational Marketing
■ Content summary of seminar:
■ Flattage societies and Generational gaps
■ Study of the young generation
■ Facts vs alternative facts
■ Mass customization
■ Market research
■ Viral trends
3. Reflection
■ Not only was this my first organized seminar I had attended through
Artevelde, it was also one of the more interesting ones. MrVan den
Bergh (lecturer/presenter) made the topic of the seminar an interesting
one in respect to that he engaged with the audience and use powerful
and colorful visuals. The seminar talked about how the overall market
grows and reacts with time. For example, with mass customization, the
public (or the buyers) want new products that stand out from the
“normal”. From this interpretation, we see that companies such as Nike
provide this kind of service for their customers.
4. International Sales in Practice
■ Content summary of seminar:
■ Internal Crisis
■ Changing the world
■ Field and desk research
■ Different cultures
■ Doing international Business
5. Reflection
■ This seminar was based on Kingele chocolate company. The speaker
talks and discusses the ways they could take the company international
and to ultimately then become an international company. The speaker
also talks about doing businesses in a completely different culture and
what to expect. With my extensive background of living in multiple
countries already, it was no surprise that most of what was said I had
already been aware of.
6. Doing business in the USA
■ Content summary of seminar:
■ Aspects of culture is different
■ Work conditions
■ “CVA” = Cover your ass
■ Land of milk and honey
7. Reflection
■ I believe Ms Kelly was one of the more interesting and convincing
speakers we had for the organized seminars. The ways in which the
Americans work and think about work is interesting as we would
naturally assume it would not differ that greatly from aWest European
country like Belgium. Ms Kelly also talked about the differences in
cultural expectations vs realities and the people’s mentalities in general.
The mindset to achieve something is placed in the brains of young
entrepreneurs in the vision to ultimately “achieve” the American dream.
8. Wonderful Indonesia
■ Content summary of seminar:
■ Tourism with businesses locally
■ International Businesses
■ Education system differences
■ Opportunities for students
■ Their influence
■ Progressive society
9. Reflection
■ I believe AmbassadorYuri gave an interesting presentation on Indonesia
and its cultures and ways of life. Given that I am halfVietnamese, I could
relate to the troubles and problems Indonesia is facing with the
education systems as well as healthcare and corruption. However,
AmbassadorYuri did see the bright side of things in respect that time
would fix it and new governments in place would strengthen the
economy with the elimination of corruption and unlawful regulations.
After this seminar, I did notice a slight change in my attitude for
Indonesia as a country but I also expected what was discussed in the
seminar. Nonetheless, it was a seminar worth remembering and a great
opportunity to speak to an Ambassador.
10. The Crypto Bubble
■ Content summary of seminar:
■ Debate between 2 sides
■ 1. Pro-cryptos
■ 2. Anti-cryptos
■ Blockchain technology
■ Links to fighting corruption
■ Intrinsic values
■ Money laundering with crime
11. Reflection
■ The crypto bubble seminar was not only my last seminar I attended but also
the one I felt most interested in. Although, this could be mainly due to my
extensive interest and history in cryptocurrencies. Despite that, I felt that the
debate carried many excellent points to notice and that both parties delivered
a well thought out, structured and easy to understand manner. I also
acknowledged that it was a seminar that caught the attention and interest of
all students at the lecture hall. Maybe the subject was indeed interesting but I
realized both parties made a good effort to draw the undivided attention of all
students present. They made it so that current investors were curious to
understand more on where their money was and how its value increased so
much. For those who did not invest in cryptocurrencies, it seemed that the
side that was for cryptos made it clear that it was not necessarily a gamble but
more of a beginning to the future.
