3. What Exactly Is
A Startup?
According to Paul Graham, Y combinator
accelerator head states that startups are
meant to solve problem and create significant
future impact. They are also companies
designed to grow quickly.

5. What is Block 69?
Many are unaware what block 69 is until we explained to
them. Block 69 was just merely a block where the food
court and convenience store were. Many were unaware
that there was a cafe and clinic in the space.
An Old Marketplace
Recreational activities in block 69 and within the vicinity
was limited and there was nothing much that the workers
could do. Furthermore, the old and dull infrastructure
naturally gives an unappealing vibe and workers are
unlikely to visit as a result.

There is no platform for companies to interact.
Even so the current environment is seemingly
competitive, creating a tense atmosphere.We hope
to find a space where startups can meet and
interact.
A vibrant hub to rest and have fun
Sometimes, startups also wants a place to unwind.
However, there is a lack of facilities within the
vicinity that companies can visit to relax and enjoy.
We hope that we have a place where startups and
go to enjoy a short break amidst the hectic week.
A place to meet talented individuals
Be it, business partners, investors, interns. Startups
are looking for a platform to find potential talent
to collaborate with. Sometimes, we just don’t have
the luxury of time to make our way down to fairs
and hunt for talent. It would great to have a place
for them to meet talented individuals in this space.

8. The Birth Block Of 69 Concept Logo
The aim of block 69 is to be the main amenities centre where
startups and entrepreneurs can visit to rejuvenate & gain
inspiration. We also want it to be a hub where startups and
interact and meet talented individuals.
We wanted a logo that represented the interaction between
different individuals within this space and startups in Singapore.
Hence, green is used to represent the bio medical, bio science
fields in one north. Red is used to signify acceleration and
aggression, similar to the mindset of a startup.

accessible e scooter station allows incubatees to
travel around the vicinity with ease.

Cooking can be a great way to foster interaction with your
colleagues and neighbours. You can host simple dinner parties or
invite them for a simple meal. Not only will you save some dining
money, you can make friends with a bunch of like minded
individuals.

Being in a laboratory or at your office space can be suffocating
at times. Sometimes, we just need that change in environment.
Lounge spaces are not something you see everyday in buildings
either. Treat it as a space for bringing people out and interacting
with each other. Who knows ideas and inspiration might just start
popping out like popcorn!

and meet great talents
The final step to creating a good product is always selling it!
A conference room can be installed in the top floor of the
building so that incubates are able to prepare for pitches
and meetings with potential investors. This room can also
be converted and used for fairs, eg. internship fairs.

Enjoy a larger variety of food choices
and a space for interaction
Introducing a bar beside the conference floor is a great platform for
people to enjoy and chat after a conference. The bar is also
equipped with a stage which allows workers to have fun and greater
interaction through the showcasing of music and talents. The stage
could also act as a practising platform for the pitching of ideas
weekly.
