Ceramic Tile Grout
DESCRIPTION
MASTERTILE 12 is ceramic tile grout made of white
cement, specially graded filters and polymeric additives.
It is available in white, red, brown and yellow colours.
For special colours, please contact the nearest BASF
Construction Chemicals representatives.
FIELDS OF APPLCIATION
• For interior and exterior application
• For a flexible and watertight grouting of ceramic wall
and floor tiles.
• For grouting of polished natural stone slabs
• In residential areas, bathrooms, showers, or
balconies and terraces
• In industrial areas exposed to strong wetness like
laundries, washrooms and subway stations
• For joint width from 3 to 10 mm

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
Immediately after bedding the tiles, rake outs joints to a
uniform depth corresponding to the thickness of the tiles.
Allow adhesive to set, leave for a minimum of 24 hours
before grouting the tiles.
Mixing
Place required amount of clean water in a clean mixing
container. Add approximately 2 parts of powder to 1 part
of clean water and mix to a smooth, lump free
consistency. Leave for approximately 3 minutes and stir
again before use. For homogeneous mix, use a hand
drill and paddle. Mix only a small batch each time.
Application
Work MASTERTILE 12 into the joints with rubber
squeegee or rubber faced trowel. Apply grout flush into
the joint. Remove excess grout from the tile surface with
a rubber squeegee, working diagonally across the tiles.
After the grout has firmed up (finger test) clean the tiles
with a slightly dampened sponge or sponge board.
ESTIMATING DATA
Consumption of the tile grout will be dependent on the
size of the tile and the gap between the tiles.
Approximately 0.3 to 0.8 kg of MASTERTILE 12 will
cover 1 square meter when applied at a width of 3 to 10
mm and 5 to 8 mm depth.
CLEANING
Clean the tools and equipment with clean water
immediately after use.
PACKAGING
MASTERTILE 12 is available in 25 kg bags.
SHELF LIFE
Up to one year when stored in a sealed container and
store in cool, dry condition as for Portland cement and
protected from extreme temperature.
PRECAUTIONS
Health: MASTERTILE 12 is alkaline like normal cement
and can cause skin irritation to persons with sensitive
skin. Wear impervious gloves and dusk mask while
handling the product. Take all precautions normally
taken while handling cement.
