1. Design and Simulation of Hydrostatic Power Transmission System (HST) of Flap Type Wave
Energy Device for Regular Waves. (Final Year Academic Group Project) Supervised by: Dr.
S.D.G.S.P. Gunawardane
We designed and studied a HST system using MATLAB Simulink and improved the chamber
profile of caisson, to get maximum energy from ocean using pendulum type energy conversion
device consists of serially connected pump, accumulators, variable displaced hydraulic motors and
electrical generator assembly. For regular waves it was shown that chamber profile can be tuned
to harness 80% energy conversion.
