The caterpillar then eats the plant, and gets it’s ENERGY
from it.
Then the FROG eats the caterpillar, and gets it’s energy.
The snake then eats the FROG and gets it’s energy

8. Food Chain Rules:
• A food chain starts with a plant
(Producer)
• The direction of the arrow shows the
flow of the energy
• Energy flows from the organism being
eaten.
