INTRODUCTION
Google Chrome is a web browser that was developed by
Google. It was first released in September 2008, for Microsoft
Windows, and was later ported to Linux, MacOS, iOS, and
Android. The browser is based on the Chromium open-source
project and offers features such as bookmarks, history, and tabbed
browsing.

HOW WAS GOOGLE
CHROME STARTED?
In September 2008, Google released the beta version of its long-
awaited web browser, Google Chrome. The browser was designed
with a number of features that set it apart from other browsers at the
time, including a minimalistic user interface and a unique JavaScript
engine. Google Chrome quickly gained popularity after its release,
and is now the most popular web browser in the world. So how did
this all start?

HOW WAS GOOGLE
CHROME STARTED?
The story of Google Chrome begins long before the actual release
of the browser. In fact, development of what would eventually become
Chrome began way back in 2006, just a year after the release of
Firefox 1.0. At the time, Google was working on a number of different
projects related to web browsers. One of these was an experimental
browser called Google Browser Sync, which was designed to allow
users to synchronize their bookmarks and browsing history across
multiple computers.

HOW WAS GOOGLE
CHROME STARTED?
However, development on Google Browser Sync stalled and it was
eventually abandoned altogether. But some of the code from Browser
Sync ended up being used in another project that would eventually
become Chrome. That project was originally known as "Chromium",
and it was started by Google engineer Brendan Eich while he was
working on another browser called Mozilla Firefox. Chromium was
open-source from the very beginning, and anyone could contribute to
its development.
