Halloween!~
Level of instruction/School:JHS 2nd year
Objective: SWBATknow about Halloween culture
Context:Halloween holiday
Language functions:listening, speaking (why…because)
Materials needed:Halloween PowerPoint (game and explanation), Halloween costumes and candy,
question strips, stickers for prizes.

Give a PowerPoint presentation about Halloween in English
Teach Halloween vocabulary
Ask students what they would dress up as for Halloween
“What do you want to be for Halloween?”
Main-Activity
~10 mins
TRICK OR TREAT (練習)
Each student comes to the front of the room with a
mask/headband(I will bring this)and practice trick or
treating
(knock knock)
“trick or treat!”
“Here you go!”
“Thank you!”
“Happy Halloween!”
~30 mins
Each student gets one piece of American candy! (I will bring
this)
HAUNTED HOUSE POWERPOINT GAME
Students separate into two teams - team 1 & team 2 (they can name their teams if they like!)
I will ask each team a question using the form
(why…because) and they have to come up with
answers. (One person from each team will answer)
If they can`t answer or it does not make sense, then the
next team gets to answer.
If they answer correctly then they choose a door on the
PowerPoint to open
FUNNY ANSWERS ARE ACCEPTED (I won`t be strict)

HALLOWEEN KARUTA (If there`s time)
The students get in groups of two (depending on the class
size)
After the Ss have spread the cards out, the teacher reads
aloud four cards and the students have to put it in order
within the time limit. The first team to get 10 points (each
time is 1 point) wins the game.
Extra notes:
To play a longer game, play a tournament. The winners play
the winners until there is a champion.
