What did I do prior to joining OGAPA?
I began my career in public service as an AmeriCorps Fellow at Morehouse College’s
Community Revitalization Initiative. I am fairly new to government and worked in community
and international development prior to accepting my first federal job at the US Agency for
International Development, where I managed executive coaching, resiliency training and EAP
programs. Prior to joining government, I worked internationally in developing Honduras for
various nongovernmental organizations, including the International Language Institute.
How would I describe my roles and responsibilities to my colleagues?
I work as a Procurement Analyst for the Department’s acquisition workforce training,
certification and professional development programs . As one of the Department’s Acquisition
Career Managers, my primary duties involve providing customer support, curriculum guidance,
training, and outreach services to acquisition clients and customers.
Of the initiatives I have worked on, what do I consider to be my favorite and
why?
My first Acquisition Management Review team role at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration at HHS provided me an invaluable opportunity to learn more about
the Department’s Acquisition Life Cycle goals, and also allowed me the opportunity to work
along side various acquisition professionals from both sides of the federal acquisition process.
What are the top 3 ways I can support my colleagues and customers?
1. I can offer genuine support to them when they request it.
2. I can work to further the objectives of the Department and not my own.
3. I can exhibit consistent customer service when expected to perform my duties.
