Inspector of Schools, School H.M, School teachers, and students of the school.<br />Description: <br />Topic: SAY NO TO PLASTIC<br />Feeling of the students about Plastic:<br />Development of Science and Technology providing facilities to human beings. Made them as a machine. Helping them to complete their works fast and accurate.<br />Mobile Phones, Computers, Rockets, Satellites, Nuclear Power are the gifts Science and Technology. Development of Science and Technology facilitating mankind at the same time it showing effects on environment and human being.<br />Plastic is one of the products of Science and Technology. Plastic became very popular because of its light weight, it is easy to carry and sustainability. <br />G.P.S.Vengal Rao Nagar, which is a Government School near to S.R.Nagar Main Road in Hyderabad and it, is in the market area. School children are daily observing market transactions. Peoples are using plastic bags to take household items to their homes and they are throwing it out side. They are throwing plastic in streets and on the roads. Because of plastic streets of Vengal Rao Nagar looking ugly. One day Madhav and Hanumanth Rao of <br />V class students coming to school they saw that an animal is chewing a plastic bag. When they came back from the school the Buffalo was lying at that place with unconscious condition.<br />What they Imagined? What ideas came in their minds?<br />Next day they went to school and they explained the total situation of Buffalo and dirtiness of streets and usage of plastic improperly to their Head Mistress. Nagamani. She explained about the harmful effects of plastic bags, Like How plastic Litter the landscape, how plastic kills animals, and how it creates problems to environment? She explained about recent floods in Mumbai and Chennai(Because of plastic Bags). At that time they decided to not to use plastic in any way. They declared their schools premised as “NO PLASTIC ZONE”. They took oath on that they won’t plastic. How it affected?<br />They prepared paper bags. Paper Ganesh, Clay Ganesh (Eco Friendly Ganesh) and displayed in S.M.C.(School Management Meeting) and explained about harmful effects of Plastic. <br />They conducted rallies in streets and distributed paper bags freely and explained about the usage of paper bags. But General Store Owners, Retailers, hawkers, vendors pointed that paper bags are not available in the market. Students and School H.M discussed school officials about permitting them to make paper bags in craft period as S.U.P.W.<br />Outcome: Parents got awareness on ill effects of plastic. General store owners and vendors accepted to use papers bags instead of plastic bags.
