The course involved
• 35 hours of input on how to teach English as a Second or Other Language
(ESOL), including different methodologies, analyzing / teaching grammar,
vocabulary, functional language and phonology, error correction, classroom
management, lesson planning, etc. Derek attended 35 hours of these.
• A teaching practice component with 6 hours of observed, assessed teaching
at three different levels. Derek completed all of this.
• Teaching learners of English as a second or other language. Derek
completed 4:40 additional hours at the pre-intermediate level and 2:40
additional hours at the upper-intermediate level.
