Educational Resources Committee
Hello. My name is Debra Chandler Hart. I am a member of the Key Corner Chapter of DAR in Dyer
County.I am so honored to be the TNDAR State Chairman for a new committee established by
President General Ann Dillion. The Educational Resources Committee will be a pool of lesson plans
written and developed for teachers everywhere. As a teacher with thirty-five years under my belt, I am
looking forward to serve DAR by encouraging teachers to submit lesson plans that will be stored in a
database for other teachers to use and implement.
What a great database we will have! You know teachers and retired teachers in your chapter that can
help. You have connections to current teachers. All those who teach or have taught have a special
lesson plan that was such a rousing success with the students. Share that lesson again with us. You may
remember a special teacher who taught you a skill or lesson that changed your life. Use all the
community resources available to you. Many of your chapter members will have ideas on how to get
the news out to your area. Don't forget Math and Science. Don't forget Preschool.
I am here to help and encourage you to make our lesson plan database a beaming success.
I will try to be available to speak at those chapter meetings that are within driving distance of Dyer
County. I welcome your questions, advice, and success stories that we can share here or on the website
and on FB. I hope that every chapter will add Educational Resourses as one of your committees this
year. Ardis Noonan Phillips is my Vice Chair. Please invite us to a meeting. We are looking for
volunteers who are willing to help with committee.
We are only as strong as our weakest link. A child's mind soaks up knowledge as does a sponge. We
can carry the torch as educators who are always seeking service through a collection of ideas.
Check out the nsdar.org. Click on our committee. There you will see a brief summary and a template
and cover sheet for your lesson plan. Submit as many as you like. You will get the credit! This template
follows Tennessee Guide lines.
