Career Online High School
 Established on October 1, 2014 as part of our
Passport to Success Program
 Project made possible by Eliminate the Digital
Divide grant from the Illinois Department of
Commerce and Economic Development, and the
Clinton Global Initiative
 Funding provided 75 scholarships for Career Online
High School
 Scholarships are open to all Fountaindale Public
Library District cardholders in good standing
Passport to Success
 Initiative designed to assist patrons with acquiring
technology skills through a combination of basic
computer classes, social media tools, and online learning
 Free program open to all area residents with a valid
library card
 Participants participate in 10 hours of computer training,
including an online basic skills assessment in one of our
passport tracks
 Participants receive incentive awards during the
program. FPLD cardholders are eligible to win one of
three laptop computers, and other special giveaway items

 Connect with community partners
 Accept community partner referrals for non-card holders if
possible
 Increase outreach efforts
 Plan long-term publicity and advertising
 Contract for extra public relations or assign press
and publicity duties to two or more staff members
 Assign staff to student ratio
 Give staff FAQs and share project information
