1. Shopping For A New Pair Of Shoes
Like every woman, I was excited about going shopping for some new
shoes. While leaving out the door, I glanced at the front page of a
newspaper, reporting the shooting of 2 young men in JerseyCity. All of a
suddenI realized, like never before,these 2 young men have left this earth.
Here I am excited about shopping for my new shoes.
I have not purchase a new pair of shoes since the death of these 2
young men. But now I am ready to go shopping for new shoes. This new
pair of shoes will be worn like no other pair I have ever owned. Focusing,
in seeing that no more young men, women and children are murder, on the
streets of JerseyCity, will be my new pair of shoes.
I will shop for them on MLK Drive. I will shop up and down Ocean Ave
for them. I will take a look on the many streets in the Greenville area of
JerseyCity. I may even search in New York City for a new pair.
I understand that they may not be comfortable or fancy as the rest of my
shoes. I may have to buy them a size bigger. They will have to have
supportaround the ankles, so I won’t fall. They will have to have a thick
sole. They will have to be black, to cover the many marks and scuffles that
they will endure. When I take them off every night, I will find the strength to
polish them and fill any holes in them, so they can be worn the next day.
These will be a pair of shoes I will gladly hand down or give to someone
else. But only, if I am certain that they can walk in my shoes.
