Program Goals
Foster academic & professional success of business students from under-represented groups.
Increase the number of students from under-represented groups enrolled in the college to better reflect
the changing demographics.
Provide business partners with a diverse, outstanding student body from which to recruit employees.
Enhance the climate of inclusion for all faculty, staff and students.
Develop and implement curricula to enhance students’ cultural competencies.
Raise funds for scholarships for students with severe financial need and challenges.
Accomplishments
387 domestic multicultural students enrolled Fall 2015
o 6.6% increase over Fall 2014
o 76.71% increase since 2007
o 17.09% of students are domestic, multicultural students
Multicultural student retention and 6-year graduation rates
o 1st

year retention of 80%, compared to national
average of less than 50%
o 50% 6-year graduation rate, slightly lower than the
college as a whole, well above 30% university average.
Accounting & Finance Students: 54 up from 40 in 2014.
Programs Components
Student Recruiting
o College for a Day Program, over 2200 multicultural high school students participated since
2008-2009, 9 programs in 2014-2015 hosting 409 students.
Student Support and Scholarships
o Koch IMPACT Scholarships: $60,000, 12 scholarships, 3.6 Average GPA, 96% retention.
o Cargill Project IMPACT Scholars: $29,000 scholarships, 45 scholars, 3.2 Average GPA.
o Hormel Foods Business Scholarship: $5,000, 2 scholarships, required GPA of 3.515.
o College of Business Administration:
$ 85,000 committed for students with financial need.
MBSA Book Purchase and Loan Program -- $3,000 during Fall 2015.

2. Student Success – Retention, graduation and academic performance
o Tutoring for math, economics, accounting and finance in Calvin Hall 3 nights per week.
o Guaranteed 4.0 program for MAPS, KOMPASS and other student
o Cargill/Phillips 66 Summer Bridge Program (MAPS):
64 CBA students have participated 2009– 2015, 16 have graduated, 84% retention,
82.89% retention in discipline and a 3.13 average cumulative GPA.
10 College of Business students participated in MAPS 2015, 4.0 average GPA.
o Project IMPACT KOMPASS: Navigating Your Way to a 4.0 – 3-day program for incoming
freshman multicultural students to enhance academic performance
o Multicultural Business Student Association – connecting students and corporate partners
