control systems design.
I perform all calculations required to select the best control and/or monitoring device based on
process conditions.
I create all drawings and documentation required for a detailed design package.
I have extensive field experience which insures that the design is practical and cost effective.
I am experienced in field start up and check out of control systems and devices.

• Selecting electrical and instrument devices based on NEC Area classification
requirements.
• Safety Instrumented System (SIS) design including Back Flow Prevention and
Emergency Block Valve installation, utilizing a Triconex system.
• Developing instrumentation device specifications.
• Control valve and orifice sizing.
• The installation and wiring methods required to bring signals into a DCS and/or PLC,
including the use of Foundation Field Bus.
• The installation of electrical heat trace used as either freeze protection and/or process
temperature control
• The sizing and selection of electrical motor starters and breakers
• Motor control utilizing a DCS and/or PLC
• Conductor and conduit sizing based on the NEC
• Working with vendors for quotes, tracking and expediting device/equipment deliveries
• Engineering and Construction cost estimates
• Project Scheduling
• The installation and use of Foundation Fieldbus

I have extensive experience with the architecture and wiring of the Honeywell TDC 3000,
Honeywell Experion and the Yokogawa Centum VP utilizing fault tolerant Ethernet and remote
I/O racks requiring fiber optic extenders.
My experience has been in the chemical, oil refining and paper industries.
