Business Operations Analyst – Discovery Business Operations

• Research Innovation Grants - Analyzes contract performance obligations and makes decision on timing
of payment release. Analyzes contract terms and liaises with senior scientists, Business Development
and Legal to determine validity of ongoing agreements. Gathers and analyzes financial commitments
and drafts summary report for Executive Director, Research Business Operations and R&D Finance.
Works with the CCS department on the management and tracking of academic agreements for
Discovery. Maintain SharePoint list of all ongoing annual license and milestone payments for the entire
Discovery organization based on contractual agreements. Submits payment via SAP check request
transaction code.
• Financial Support – Provides April and September projections to finance for the Innovation grant
budget. Reviews monthly cost center spend for the Discovery Executive budget, report and research any
anomalies. Coordinate and respond to the annual R&D Tax Credit for Discovery Executive cost center.
• Discovery Portfolio Support - Manages the monthly Discovery Program Review Form (PRFs) process
and develops and communicates submission timelines to DWG leaders and other contributors. Provides
on-demand availability of confidential discovery program information by managing content on the
Discovery Portfolio SharePoint Site and across all TST governance SharePoint sites. Maintain current
list of DWG Leaders across all Discovery Programs. Maintain staff data dictionary in Program Tracker.
• General Research Business Operations – Supplemental support for Disease Sciences & Biologics
business operations efforts.
• SharePoint Collaboration - Proficient in the SharePoint collaboration tool and provides advice to
Research SharePoint site owners. Configure, support and maintain extranet SP sites for external
collaborations. Liaises with Business Operations colleagues to build SharePoint sites for process
simplification and collaboration, and is solely responsible for maintaining current content on sites once
in production: examples of sites: Research Innovation Grants; BBRC FTE Reporting; Research Org
Charts, Discovery Portfolio and DWG Support.
• DWG rewards and recognition - Track annual spending against early and full phase discovery
programs.
• BBRC FTE’s – maintain excel tracking tool for external BBRC (Syngene) FTE’s. As of February 2015,
Syngene employees now track time in eTime.
