LETTER OF REFERENCE
To whom it may concern
This letter is to provide a reference on behalf of Daniele Diana, based on my knowledge of him derived from his
participation in the International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport – the “FIFA Master” programme.
The course is co-ordinated by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. A unique
postgraduate Sports Master comprising a very limited group of students recruited annually from all around the globe, the
course is taught in three prestigious European universities to leverage the specific pools of expertise within each:
• Humanities module – International Centre for Sports History and Culture, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK;
• Management module – SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan, Italy;
• Law module – Université de Neuchâtel, Neuchâtel, Switzerland;
• Dissertation and final award ceremony – Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
Closely supported by FIFA and now in its 16
th
edition, this programme aims to cover all the principal areas and challenges
facing sports managers in the modern international sports scene. It seeks to bring together three complentary perspectives
to create a group of leading and well-rounded expert sport industry managers.
In my roles as Director of the CIES, “FIFA Master” Programme’s Scientific Director and principal lecturer in this course, I
have known Daniele throughout the past year.
He combines a strong professional background, with a wide-ranging and in-depth understanding of the business and
management of sport. As a student, he demonstrated very good analytical and problem solving skills. He was a motivated
and conscientious student showing a lot of interest for the matter taught. He demonstrated a good understanding of the
various issues encountered in the world of sport.
I am convinced from the above that Daniele Diana is particularly well qualified for any position he would apply for in the
sports industry.
Yours faithfully,
Prof. Denis Oswald
Director of CIES
