To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I write in recommendation of Vasco Vasconcelos. For three months
(March 30 to June 3), Vasco Vasconcelos undertook an internship in the Foreign Commercial
Service at the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon. The Foreign Commercial Service is an Agency of the
Department of Commerce that works to increase United States’ exports around the world, and aids
U.S. companies increase their market share abroad.
During his internship, he provided our office with a range of services including business counseling
assistance and business outreach. He was extremely helpful in assisting with the organization of
events such as “FESTIVAL IN”. His background proved to be very useful to us, as he was able to
help identify various industries, the main players, and potential local partners integrated in the
current economic conditions, as well as compose several texts such and translations to be used in the
aforementioned events. He was also able to use and develop his knowledge in more aspects of
business and trade between the U.S and Portugal.
Vasco Vasconcelos quickly adapted to his functions and to what was asked of his. He willingly took
on new tasks and actively looked for the best way to contribute, showing flexibility and team spirit.
His creativity and perseverance were thus an important contribution to the success of all of the
events and projects that he worked on, and thereby helped to raise Embassy morale and foster new
diplomatic and economic ties between the United States and Portugal.
Sincerely,
Lora Baker
