• 17.12.2014 – Doctor of Science (Economic and Business Administration)

Technology Finland. Doctoral thesis: “Strategic management of value
networks: how to create value in cross-sector collaboration and
partnerships”. I developed some managerial tools for cross-sector
collaboration which allow for value creation and performance
improvement. The tools have been used successfully in public sector
projects which involved cross-sector collaboration.

experience
• 1.01.2015-31.12.2015, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland,
post-doctoral researcher. Research project work at School of Business
and management.
The project topic: “Sustainable and Innovative Supply Management
as a source for Competitive Advantage”. The purpose of the research
project is to find out how the supplier strategic and innovative
procurement management can be improved through the transition towards
more responsible business models. My own contribution is to investigate
companies’ responsibility reports and interviews data to identify the
needs and processes for assuring responsibility. The investigation also
includes the role risk management plays in assuring responsibility. I have
written scientific journal papers and conference papers about these issues.

Business Research Centre.
The first project topic: “WELSERV – From the welfare needs of the
elderly to renewal of the service structure”. The purpose of the research
was to concept a service structure that is based on the needs of the elderly
customers and supports the promotion of their welfare. Furthermore, the
service structure is an integrated whole from the customers standpoint
and cost-effective from the point of view of the public sector.
My own contribution in the project is to investigate how to improve the
collaboration between public, private and third sectors. I have used
during this project the tool I developed for performance measuring and
performance prediction in cross-sector collaboration. The investigations
involved a case study foe elderly care services development at Eksote. I
have written scientific journal papers and conference papers about this
issue.
The second project topic: "Customer value-oriented innovative public
service contracts in social and health care domain". The purpose of the

research project was to increase customer value and to find innovative
solutions in public procurement. My own contribution in the project is: to
address the risk assessment and risk mitigating strategies in collaboration
settings; to design a framework for the standardization of public
procurement process; to develop an innovative partnership model in
public procurement - a value network approach. The investigations
involved a case study for palliative care service development at Eksote. I
have written scientific journal papers and conference papers about these
issues.
