Enrollment Management is committed to promot-
ing Lone Star College Top 5! Below is a feature
article highlighting a project and/or activity that
Enrollment Management has hosted in a direct ef-
fort to promote LSC Top 5.
Admissions & Records is closing in on Lone Star Col-
lege’s September 15th
deadline to complete the posting of
degrees for the fall 2014, spring 2015, and summer 2015.
Below is a comparison snapshot to see how Lone Star
College-CyFair compared in posting degrees and certifi-
cates this academic year compared to last year. Admis-
sions & Records team members have met with the Advis-
ing team members to discuss a new initiative to keep in
contact with students who applied but failed to achieve
degree or certificate completion. Additionally, Admis-
sions & Records team members have reached out to the
cohort groups in Division IV to begin planning graduation
application workshops to ensure 100% cohort application
submission.
Lone Star College-CyFair has committed to increasing it’s
graduation numbers by 2% during the next academic year.
Enrollment Management will be revealing several initia-
tives and programs designed to assist the campus in
achieving the goal!

LSC-CyFair Fall Registration Survey
Enrollment Management is committed to evaluation and reflection. The Recruitment and Enrollment Committee has
distributed the annual registration survey. Employees throughout the college campus are encouraged to click on the
link and provide feedback. The survey is short and provides the administration with detailed information regarding the
fall 2015 registration period. Please feel free to forward this link to any college employee who may have feedback re-
garding the previous registration period! Link: http://goo.gl/forms/t0UsYXl53m.
The Enrollment Management Leadership Team has taken another step to provide transparency to staff within the divi-
sion. The weekly Enrollment Management Leadership Team meeting minutes will be made available to all EM team
members on the SharePoint site. Jeancarlo Guzman is in the process of updating access for all members within the di-
vision. In addition to the EMLT meeting minutes, Open Forum meeting minutes will also be placed online for staff to
view. Please take time to review the meeting minutes and if you have any questions or concerns, please discuss with
your direct supervisor. Enrollment Management is committed to transparency and accountability.
WebEx Provides Center Engagement
Enrollment Management is continually challenged with communication across the division which includes multi-
campus locations. In an effort to ensure continual and updated information, Enrollment Management has utilized We-
bEx to host Daily Duck Calls during peak registration and monthly Open Forums. This service has allowed for Enroll-
ment Management staff members across all three campuses to engage in live meetings. Special thanks to Christa
Molloy and Jeancarlo Guzman for their continual work with WebEx to ensure constant communication throughout the
division.

Camp Learn A Lot
This summer A&R staff participated in Camp Learnalot, sponsored by the LSC-CF
Teaching and Learning Center. Lisa Lyle, A&R graduation specialist, shared that it
was a great summer learning experience. Lisa shared that she was able to learn a lot
about Outlook tools, overall office tools, OneNote. Other self-improvement topics
like organization skills, stress reduction, time management, procrastination, resource-
fulness, and resilience. Lisa noted that there are a ton of topics to learn a lot about
and which can be done for free, at work, at home, on the road, on your computer,
tablet, and even your phone. The top three things Lisa learned about include: how to
open and edit a restricted pdf through Word, OneNote is an invaluable tool for keep-
ing notes handy and collaborating with others, and how to mail merge. Tifiny Porch,
student enrollment specialist, shared that her top three things she learned were man-
aging stress, overcoming procrastination, and communicating with different cultures.
Lisa and Tifiny recommend that the Enrollment Management staff check out
Lynda.com. Per Lisa, “it’s awesome, and you can learn a lot in just a little time eve-
ry day or when you’re bored of watching reruns…learn a lot with Lynda.com.”
Jabber Implementation
Michelle Bucelluni
If you missed Michelle vetting the lines during peak, it was because she has
been out recovering from hip surgery. Perhaps she decided recovering from
surgery would be easier than living through peak.
Michelle wrote earlier in the week that she has started doing physical thera-
py, has graduated to a cane, and is now driving. Per Michelle, ‘she still has a
hitch in her giddy up.’ We expect her to return to work in a few weeks when
she is cane free.
Employee Spotlight
Sarah Zapata
This past academic year Sarah Zapata participated in
the Empower U Leadership Program. On a monthly
basis she would spend an entire day with 13 other indi-
viduals focusing on leadership and self-empowerment.
Each session participants would have two guests
speakers from campus leadership present, chapter re-
views from our book “The Leadership Challenge” and
group activities focused on team building. The year
kicked off with a retreat at Camp Allen, where partici-
pants got to network with fellow cohorts. Everyone
came from a different department, so it was a neat ex-
perience to build connections. Participants also got to
complete the Strengths Quest evaluation and better
understand they are as leaders. Each semester partici-
pants completed a service project, one for the commu-
nity and one for the campus. For the community ser-
vice project, Sarah’s group participated in Cypress-
Fairbanks ISD Mentoring program. The middle school
student that she met with asked her to continue men-
toring him. Sarah’s campus based project was focused
on enhancing awareness about employee volunteer
projects and Dr. Levy personally asked me to partici-
pate in a committee initiative her started regarding this
same matter. It was such a reflective, beneficial experi-
ence where Sarah learned to lead from where she is.
Now, Sarah has learned new skill sets that will benefit
me forever. Participating in the program can open so
many doors and Sarah encourages all staff to pursue
the opportunity when able!
All A&R staff are now fully utilizing
the new internal messaging system –
Cisco Jabber. This new tool allows
front counter staff to instant message
with the back office staff without having
to leave their work station providing a
better customer service experience for
applicants and students. Other areas
that A&R staff are jabbering with in-
clude system office student records staff
and Cypress Center staff. You might have noticed Jabber statuses are also
reflected in MS Outlook. Green for present : and yellow
for away:
A&R would like to thank the Office of Technology Services and especially
Danny Bazan for assisting in the quick creation of the Jabber accounts and
the installation on A&R computers. The departmental request was filled
within one day and Danny took the time to ensure that everyone was up and
running smoothly the same day.

“Customer Satisfaction” survey regarding Call Center services and other areas
within Enrollment Management. In addition, calling campaigns related to late
start registration, and campaigns geared towards getting new applicants ready
for spring 2016 registration will occur. More information about these cam-
paigns and their results will become available as the semester progresses.
System Call Center Meeting
Jeancarlo Guzman is currently working with the supervisors from the five other
campus Call Centers, the Help Desk, and the Financial Aid Contact Center in
planning a system-wide Call Center meeting. This will be the second meeting
of this group, the first meeting was held in March 2015 at CyFair. This meeting
will serve as a venue for campuses to discuss the challenges and accomplish-
ments their departments faced during the summer and peak registration, as well
as to share tips and advice for other areas. This meeting is scheduled to take
place at LSC-Montgomery on September 25th
, Jeancarlo Guzman and Jessica
Guajardo will attend as representatives from LSC-CyFair.

month.
Happy Birthday to Chris Goodermote, Debra Bearam and Laura Han-
cock!
Admission Recruiters
Lone Star College-CyFair, Cypress Center, had the pleasure of wel-
coming Universidad De Las Americas Puebla, on Tuesday, September
8th
. Puebla, Mexico, is a 2,500 year old beautiful sacred city that has
become a World Heritage Site, with the most Catholic churches in the
whole country. It is located in East-Central Mexico, bordered by the
states of Veracruz to the north and east of Hidalgo, Mexico. It is
known for the art of Talavera pottery and is used throughout the city’s
architecture. Today, certified Talavera pottery is only made in a hand-
ful of workshops in the capital and other nearby communities. To be
certified as a genuine Talavera Potter, the same methods must be used
as in the 16th century.
True Talavera pottery is expensive and considered to be a collector’s
item. When visiting, make sure to also capture all the sculptures of an-
gels. UDLAP was founded in 1940, has 7200 students from more than
30 countries, controlled access on-campus housing, great variety of
cultural and sport activities, and more than 70 academic programs to
choose from. Students can transfer to this University and take ad-
vantage of a rich cultural international education in one of Mexico’s
true gems!
New Cafe
On Tuesday, September 8th
, the Cypress Center opened a Café located
next to the bookstore. A convenient one-stop location to buy books,

  • 5. 4 Camp Learn A Lot This summer A&R staff participated in Camp Learnalot, sponsored by the LSC-CF Teaching and Learning Center. Lisa Lyle, A&R graduation specialist, shared that it was a great summer learning experience. Lisa shared that she was able to learn a lot about Outlook tools, overall office tools, OneNote. Other self-improvement topics like organization skills, stress reduction, time management, procrastination, resource- fulness, and resilience. Lisa noted that there are a ton of topics to learn a lot about and which can be done for free, at work, at home, on the road, on your computer, tablet, and even your phone. The top three things Lisa learned about include: how to open and edit a restricted pdf through Word, OneNote is an invaluable tool for keep- ing notes handy and collaborating with others, and how to mail merge. Tifiny Porch, student enrollment specialist, shared that her top three things she learned were man- aging stress, overcoming procrastination, and communicating with different cultures. Lisa and Tifiny recommend that the Enrollment Management staff check out Lynda.com. Per Lisa, “it’s awesome, and you can learn a lot in just a little time eve- ry day or when you’re bored of watching reruns…learn a lot with Lynda.com.” Jabber Implementation Michelle Bucelluni If you missed Michelle vetting the lines during peak, it was because she has been out recovering from hip surgery. Perhaps she decided recovering from surgery would be easier than living through peak. Michelle wrote earlier in the week that she has started doing physical thera- py, has graduated to a cane, and is now driving. Per Michelle, ‘she still has a hitch in her giddy up.’ We expect her to return to work in a few weeks when she is cane free. Employee Spotlight Sarah Zapata This past academic year Sarah Zapata participated in the Empower U Leadership Program. On a monthly basis she would spend an entire day with 13 other indi- viduals focusing on leadership and self-empowerment. Each session participants would have two guests speakers from campus leadership present, chapter re- views from our book “The Leadership Challenge” and group activities focused on team building. The year kicked off with a retreat at Camp Allen, where partici- pants got to network with fellow cohorts. Everyone came from a different department, so it was a neat ex- perience to build connections. Participants also got to complete the Strengths Quest evaluation and better understand they are as leaders. Each semester partici- pants completed a service project, one for the commu- nity and one for the campus. For the community ser- vice project, Sarah’s group participated in Cypress- Fairbanks ISD Mentoring program. The middle school student that she met with asked her to continue men- toring him. Sarah’s campus based project was focused on enhancing awareness about employee volunteer projects and Dr. Levy personally asked me to partici- pate in a committee initiative her started regarding this same matter. It was such a reflective, beneficial experi- ence where Sarah learned to lead from where she is. Now, Sarah has learned new skill sets that will benefit me forever. Participating in the program can open so many doors and Sarah encourages all staff to pursue the opportunity when able! All A&R staff are now fully utilizing the new internal messaging system – Cisco Jabber. This new tool allows front counter staff to instant message with the back office staff without having to leave their work station providing a better customer service experience for applicants and students. Other areas that A&R staff are jabbering with in- clude system office student records staff and Cypress Center staff. You might have noticed Jabber statuses are also reflected in MS Outlook. Green for present : and yellow for away: A&R would like to thank the Office of Technology Services and especially Danny Bazan for assisting in the quick creation of the Jabber accounts and the installation on A&R computers. The departmental request was filled within one day and Danny took the time to ensure that everyone was up and running smoothly the same day.
