This document is a portfolio for Daniel Cuomo that summarizes his skills and experience in prop making and artisan crafts. 7. Break Away Vase
Rather than using smash
glass, I chose to cast a vase
that could be pre-broken
and re-assembled after
each performance.
This eliminated the
safety concern of broken
shards on stage, satisfied
budgetary constraints,
and allowed for the addition
of this item to
Permanent stock.
The original vase was
cast in Mold Max 30
8. A wax cast was
Created to determine
the volume of material
needed for the desired wall
thickness.
The vase needed to handle
high impact with thin walls
that would create a realistic
shatter effect.
Task 15 (a Smooth On
product) allowed this to be
achieved by hand rotational
casting the material with a
pot life of only 6 minutes.

no material was lost in
the cutting process and
could be re-assembled

this table is designed to

and attached to two legs.
Two smaller Double
Acting Rodless Cable
Cylinders are mounted
under the table top and
attached to various
objects that fall as the
table falls and return to
their original positions as
the table rises.

in a channel for functional

Steel base structure with a
plywood exterior.
Limbs designed to support
full body weight.
Layers of foam
laminated on top of this
structure were then carved
down to the desired shape
and texture.
A thick layer of a polygem
epoxy product called
“Armorstone” was used to
make the foam structural.
27. Le Poison Omelette
Sculpted from Paper Clay and
Play Dough. Baked until cured and
painted.
No show is complete without last
minute changes. This omelette was
a 2 hour creation using any and all
available materials.
